Your assumption that the people who's borrowing went up are the same people who's savings are high and can service their debt… Could it be that what you are actually looking at are two demographics totally separate hence…. the increase income gap. Poorer are borrowing to maintain their standard of living and and those with money are increasing their cash reserves?

In the short term I agree with Kevin, but personally I think lower gas prices are just a Trojan horse democrats are using to stay in power. Won’t be surprised to see gas prices start an upward trajectory as soon as the mid term elections conclude.
