Housing NEEDS to crash. Prices are way too high. Many poor homeowners took out MASSIVE home equity loans & now are upside down-will probably walk away leaving the banks holding the bag. Those poor banks!!

Just waiting to see Utah (California 2.0) drop their home prices to reasonable affordable prices. Anything “reasonable” is a half million or more. Absolute bonkers. Some of these homes look tragic but “reasonable” because the sq footage, acreage or location make up for it.

I think a lot of people are relying on US debt affordability for the government will keep rates down. Everyone seems to forget nothing stops the treasury from making new bonds callable. They were callable until 1985, they could do it again now.

Raise those rates and keep them there.Cocaine is a helluva drug.people and markets are addicted to free money.

The American 30 year mortgage baffles us Canadians they only give us 5 year terms and penalize us for 10 year and never seen a 30 year.

Kevin is full it! First of all, he was never a broker when interest rates were this high. As interest rates rise, fewer people qualify for a mortgage. Right now the housing market is in an artificial bubble. Once interest rates climb beyond 7% that bubble is going to burst. The housing market will see a drastic decline. The psychology doesn't matter because the majority to not have the income requirements for a loan. Wages are not rising with the high inflation. That is why Kevin's business will go bankrupt within the first few years.
