It happens all the time when gamblers push it to the limit. I sell short term (5 days or less) calls and puts, with a 9 out of 10 options expiring worthless. But in the last couple of weeks the market looks to be oversold and with inflation looming in the future. So I have moved towards taking 5% of the gains this year and is selling puts options on inverse ETFs and VXX. So far those down side trades have broken even or lost a little. I just use these trades to protect most of my gains, and hedge my gains in the future.
