Chamath Palihapitiya JUST said to CNBC that he has sold all his Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) stock in order to raise cash for other investments. In this video I will break down this move by Chamath and dispel some of the inevitable Tesla FUD that is soon to follow.

Hey this is tom and, as you may have heard, chamath sold out of a hundred percent of his tesla stock. It's gone in this video i'll answer. Why my take on it and my behind the scenes look of what's really going on versus mainstream media stories. First of all, i do ask of one thing, which is: don't click? Nothing, don't smash; nothing, don't buy nothing.

There's! No courses, no discounts! It's all in your head check this out just stay with me. So today we found out in the cnbc interview unwillingly by a reporter that asked chamath an uncomfortable question which he was clearly visibly uncomfortable answering. Basically, what's going on with your tesla position and chamath blurred out that he sold out of his entire position, continuing to stumble mumble and basically trip over his own words, but he did say it which means this is not fud. This is actually something that factually correct.

It happened. The question is why, and the question is how much of a shish kebab our mainstream media is going to make from this, which is, i am guessing quite a lot now, you're, probably going to be hearing in the next few days. How chamath and kathy wood are stock pumpers, who pump stock basically said that 3x 4x and then they sold out just to make a quick puck. Now here's a few things you need to understand.

First of all, factually speaking, chamath did sell out, but once you hear they're going to couple him with kathy wood's heart, that's not precisely correct, because you know the best way to get a good lie in is by mixing it up with a little bit of truth. So the chamath part is correct. He did sell out, but kathy wood actually increased her position since exactly a year ago to this year by like 20 now the thing about kathy is a complete because she literally has more shares now than she had a year ago. So, to say that she's selling off is complete nonsense.

If you take a look at the behavior of the amount of stock she's getting versus the price, you'll see a clear pattern. Every time the stock dips just buy more every time the stock goes up like it's doing now. She's selling she's rebalancing her etf. She cannot let any single stock get too big.

Now, of course, they're going to use it for fud and chamath with kathy sounds great. Kathy is a good clickbait title. You know, god if i know, but that whole cathy wood story is just nonsense. She's just increasing her position every year and that's been kind of consistent.

So why did chamath sell? Because his sale is real? So i honestly think that this may go down in history as one of the worst moves ever made by a human being, because i think he's gon na regret it, but it's his decision to make and it's his money and he's within his rights. So i'm not angry at him. The problem is that i think he succumbed to the narrative, which is a completely false narrative, that tesla at this valuation is just ridiculously expensive. People from the tesla hating community basically say well.
This company is not fundamentally different than the company we had two years ago and that company was trading at 40 billion. This one is at 700 billion, so it makes no sense. Let's sell. The only problem is they're, forgetting a few facts.

Of course, they got to do a few factual gymnastics to make this argument correct number one they're, forgetting that tesla literally tripled the amount of deliveries per year from 300 to almost a million this year. They also forget that tesla are basically finishing up two huge ass gigafactories, which can increase the capacity even more they're, forgetting the fact that tesla has literally beat mobileye. Finally, in the full self-driving tests i mean mobile went with lidar and mapping. Tesla went with artificial engines and, basically machine learning, and now we know who the winner is tesla fsd in 2021 is nowhere near to any of our competitors, and i think it's quite clear, so fsdy is exponentially.

Better production is way higher, ramping up two new factories. I mean it's just an endless growth and potential to say that this is the same company from two years ago shows a lack of understanding in financial terms. But again i don't know if chamath did it because he succumbed to this or because it fueled into his desires, to make more money now, if tesla is going to double or triple which i think it is, but you can make way more money doing these packs. Every week like he does, i mean you're probably going to be doing these packs.

I mean in this packs he doubles his money in the week easy peasy in the tesla, it's two to three x, not enough, he wants more, i get it. The problem is that it puts his own credibility a little bit in question because he's been hyping up the stock so much and now to see him sell out, is kind of weird, but knowing your math do not be surprised if he jumps back in through the Next parabolic rise and basically claimed that he never left. He was always on board, he's sort of guy that actually can do it and get away with it. I have no issues with it now.

Here's the thing i want you to understand my opinion is the tesla. Is currently a 1500 stock, which means it has 2x more to run before it even hits the current real evaluation it should have now. I also think the test is going to be the biggest company in the world. I also think that eventually it's going to 5x from its current value, meaning it will have a 3.5 trillion valuation and i know, but some of you basically are saying tom.

Are you insane what the hell are you talking about, and i know a lot of you will oppose this and disagree with me and be mad and say how i don't understand finance and to all of you i say i don't care i'm staying in. You can sell as much as you want use your mouth as your excuse. We don't care we're happy with tesla. I think the trajectory is amazing and we'll see chamomile jumping back in soon and then he's going to tell you he never left.
I think he's going to be amusing, but just a quick take from my end. I hope you enjoyed this video. Let me know below what you think about him selling out. Do you agree with me disagree.

Do you have a different theory? Let me know i try to read almost every single comment: i'll see you tomorrow.

great job Chamath comrade, pump the sheep and dump them, china style, lets go capitalism at its best

The US is much more anti Tesla than China. The US is showing it's colors with it's pre bancruptcy bailout EV tax credits (gifts) to UAW ICE companies. If the US was serious about climate, they could replace the whole electrical fossel fueled grid with renewable solar & batteries for less than $2Trillion. This is less than the EV tax credits to existing ICE OEMs , and you would have really accomplished something. As opposed to delaying bancruptcy Gm & Ford for 3-4 years

Look I understand it’s hard to get people to click on your video and you want to do everything you can to get the most clicks. However it said he’s sold out it’s over. I’m playing Teslas good fortune is over? It just seems like you didn’t really address the β€œit’s over β€œ
    Other than that good video.

Global economy is crashing, lots of people will lose alot
Can't buy anything if you got nothing
Personally I think the Tesla is a hunk of expensive junk
I build/use Solarized transportation , the one I'm presently using has 6000km without ever grid charging,
I can use it to cook, boil water, charge batteries
Grid goes down, Tesla is dead in the water but my Solarized buggy keeps on going
Musk wants 70k, my Solarized buggy cost 4500 and it paid for itself in 60 days
Ah, did you read IPCC latest report, Code Red for Humanity
Global CO2 levels are 417ppm and AGGI is 585ppm and climbing
Global thermostat setting is 1c/12 ppm
Global temperatures will rise 25.4c at 585ppm AGGI levels
    Global temperatures rise is accelerating
Heatwaves are hitting 40c to 50c shade temperatures and add 10c when in sunlight
Droughts and heatwaves are starting to cook the food production
Reservoirs are drying up, Oroville dam has shutdown since August
    Deluges and flooding is escalating
The ghg levels have to be reduced from 585ppm back down to 280ppm
    Tic toc

Chamath doesn't wana be dragged down with china and tesla for their green coal scams. The fact is coal is way more emission than fossil fuel or natural gas and 70% of china grid is thermal coal powered factories and coal powered electric cars china and tesla manufacturing is coal powered and even tesla solar and parts for California is coal powered. Coal shortage will impede their scamanufacturing. Coal shortage expose.

He hasnt owned any Tesla all year, he sold LAST YEAR. Its being used for current FUD. Period. Thats all fact.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J P says:

I can of hope Chamaths selling out causes a dip in Tesla shares so I can have a temporary increase leverage in my buying power of Tesla stock.

Chamath is investing in other big disrupting opportunities in India and needed the cash, that’s all.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Elliott23232323 says:

Your videos are honest, educational and really funny! You make me laugh! There are many possible reasons why Chamath sold his position that don't necessarily have anything to do with Tesla directly. But who really cares? It's what Tesla does, not Chamath.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ALCO ENTERTAINMENT says:

Chamath hasnt owned any Tesla in 2021, there is no "JUST SOLD", stop being click baity

Tom, seem to lack the ability to support your vision of TESLA. Energy, MegaPac, Autonomy, SaaS, Tesla Bot, Solar City, TeslaSemi, Cybertruck, Robotics, DOJO etc. etc. etc.

I think you’re spot on about Tesla and appreciate your navigation of financial news. I am curious to see if your assessment of Evergrande turns out to be true. I think it’s going to be way worse, but time will tell. FYI, I believe that GameStop will prove to be the biggest company in the world, when it’s all said and done. With what Cohen and team are doing behind the scenes in the development of an NFT platform, will surprise many, I’m sure. Any who, keep up the videos. I like digesting many points of views.

Ark investment only keeps 10% of any company in its portfolio they sell when it gets to 12 or 13 % that's why she sells to keep it 10%

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steve D says:

The Chinese have acquired Tesla technology since luring him over there to open a subsidised factory and then causing him endless problems with 'health and safety' issues. The Chinese distraction will cost him dear and should be factored into expectations.

To invest in tesla now requires you to speculate. Speculating about the future is dangerous. Awesome business though.

He didn’t β€œjust sell” he hasn’t sold any Tesla stock in 2021, he sold a long time ago. Old news

The competition is coming! That's why the market isn't jumping on Tesla stock lately, and Tesla is losing EV market share.

I don't think he "JUST" sold it…and it was revealed in the interview. TESLARATI's page talks about the same interview, and it has a specific portion of Chamath's statements:Chamath said atΒ Β Delivering Alpha conference on Wednesday that he had decided to exit his $TSLA position β€œin the last year or so,” utilizing the capital for projects that required the venture capitalist to liquidate some of his holdings.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Lakshitha Jayakody says:

Never trust people like Chamath who comes to interviews, podcasts & seminar and gives macho type talks, reviews & analysis on companies, markets & stocks. They always talk with something else hidden in their minds.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RJ says:

Objectively, I think he did pump and dump. I would like to know at what prices he sold at. But it is not a good look. His credibility is damaged.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Abdoul Nour says:

Why everyone forget to mention the energy sector of tesla πŸ€”? I think it has the potential to be as bigger as its sibling

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Richard Ackley says:

I lost all faith and respect for Chamath. I had him on a pedestal all this time. Now I consider him a POS, a liar, a manipulator, done with anything he has to say. Yeah but he said he would never SELL. LIAR.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tom Nash says:

I think this could go down as a historically bad decision by Chamath but it's his money and his move to make. I wonder what do you make of this sale. Let me know below.
