If you ask 100 people on the street if they want wealth and success in their life, 100% of them will reply: yes. However, if you look at the population in any given country around the world, 95% of people don't achieve success or wealth, and the reason is a universal misunderstanding of basic concepts and principles about building wealth and success which I will share with you in this video.

  1. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Michael Webster says:

Most people constantly overestimate what they can achieve in 1 to 3 years and totally underestimate what they can achieve in 5 to 10 years. No matter what your goals are I always believe in enjoying the journey. Compounding when it takes off is like magic, let it happen, be patient. Definitely need to develop thick skin and be adaptable to whatever is thrown at you. The fastest way to find success is to make the most mistakes the quickest and learn from others about what doesn't work. Everyone has something valuable to teach, even if it's what not to do. Success is 80% preparation and 20% perspiration, be prepared and opportunities will come, then be willing to actually pull the trigger. The best opportunity in the world is worth nothing unless you are willing to accept it and proceed (TSLA in May 2019, just saying…).

The world is controlled by 3 things intelligence, power (money/position), and beauty, but only wisdom allows you to prosper from all three that serves the mind, body, and soul.

    Thanks Mr. Nash.

Iโ€™m working hard to get to my net worth to $0. Iโ€™m 23 and I should get there by end of December if not sooner. Currently saving 15% in my Roth 401k and budgeting hard.

Iโ€™m only 20 years old but I come from the Netherlands originally and moved to the states when I was very young, Iโ€™ve since committed myself to the school system and never partied in high school or anything like that and managed to get merit scholarship for an engineering school, and Iโ€™m on track to be a first generation college student. I resonate deeply with the continual improvement mentality. 1% a day!!

Engineer here. My motto has always been to constantly improve my quality of life. When making a decision or a purchase I ask myself will this increase my quality of life in the long term. Studying vs Partying. Saving up for one well made suit vs buying something alright with a credit card. Living on a budget vs spending in the moment.

Great video Tom. My big goal has been to pay off my mortgage on my house as soon as possible. The big sacrifices was driving a shitty car for years, and not wasting money on flash home renovations and toys. At the same time I've been investing a fixed percentage of my income every month (running a home business), irrespective of turnover. Result has been my 30 year mortgage has been reduced to a total of 7 1/2 years and I'll be debt free next year (Age 56). Keep up the good work!

Glad to be an ethnic multimillionaire like Tom. Not many people own up to their own mistakes and take responsibility for themselves.

Straight and rational shooter. Nice job, Tom! We are the same age and tend to see things the same way. Wish I focused and understood this stuff better when I was 20

Life is all about trade offs. Once u mastered this, u will know your risk to reward in every decision u make. Thats how i achieve my success

hey i love your videos, the main thing that led me to financial success is working every day since 12 on my craft, having 1 friend, no partying, and just work work work. then i had an approtunity that i have worked for my whole life, that opporotunity made me sucessfull, but only bcs of the work i have put in before.

Focus & differed gratification can make you go a long way. Also RPA.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars justin c says:

Tom is absolutely correct on everything he said. This dude has life experience and canโ€™t fake that. My goal is to have more experiences outside of the bubble I have trapped myself in, but that is another story..

More importantly, I have been sacrificing for ages for financial goals, kind of getting ahead but almost does not feel like itโ€™s worth the past 5 years of becoming more aware and sacrificing almost every fun thing people enjoy doing. And that is, in my opinion giving up the instant gratification for a better tomorrow. It takes a lot more sacrifice than what we believe it should. I think this is what separates the the real success from the fake temporary success.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sam Dean says:

Iโ€™m successful by most peoples standards. Self made blah blah blah.

To add to what Tom says here I have a few add ons
When it comes to the patience part, also be patient in bad times. โ€œThis too shall passโ€

If you wanna be rich, ask why and how much. It doesnโ€™t do you any good to finally take a breather, but when you look up youโ€™re 80. Your rich, but youโ€™re 80 and never were able to enjoy it

Never treat anyone as if you are above or beneath them. You never know who it is youโ€™re talking to or where they will be the next time your paths cross

Be honest. Tell people hard truths, but praise them when they are exceptional.

Lastly, understand that thereโ€™s a lot of people who have it better and worse than you. No one cares. The fact that you can read this puts you at an advantage over a large portion of the population. Be thankful for the little things that are your tailwinds.

    Much love.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Musgrave says:

Look many steps ahead when taking any action – whatever is satisfying in the moment is probably the worst thing you can do.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Al B says:

Number 7, story time, is about being cool. People will come to you if you have something of value. You donโ€™t have to force it.

Slightly relevant is not gushing about what someone has or how attractive someone is. It signals that you donโ€™t belong in a place or with a person.

Even if something is way better than youโ€™ve experienced, you donโ€™t need to advertise that. Just donโ€™t take it for granted. Do the things it requires. Totally respect people and their property.
