One of the companies involved is also involved with Robinhood. The optics suggest that a request went through the chains of companies to kill the ability for Robin Hood to buy GameStop and end this death spiral and manipulate the market to stop the Robinhood buyers from manipulating the market when they were countering the manipulation the original investors were doing on GameStop and others from the beginning. Players got played and so many fingers pushing the market back and forth.

Selling stock you don’t have $100 (with the guarantee you, if needed, will buy those stock at any price) banking on the fact that you buy it back when it’s cheaper $80 making $20 without owning that stock.
However, if that GameStop stocks increases its value to $200, you owe that broker the $100 he loaned you plus $100.
And the broker told you that if the game stock price hits $300, its game over we want $300 as promised, sorry bout you bad bet.

Great video Tim. Very clear and concise explanation of the risks and dangers of shorting a stock especially for new traders as myself. I will stick to longing for now. The risks are just not worth the try. I have to get way more experience before shorting.

Hey Tim question why do you seek stocks on there 52 week high wouldn’t you think the stocks price has already met its peak or close to it? Why wouldn’t you look for the 52 week low and all the different cats that are out and some of the sec files and determine if it’s just dipped because of bogus news or promoters hyping up a competitor and buy this and wait for it to go back to its average weekly or monthly trading average? Sorry a Lil long but iv always heard you saying this for the past year and I thought the idea was buy low sell high in my case I just want to buy low and sell most at the average and wait to see where the top is and sell rest as close to that as possible and as a carpenter that builds custom homes I have to swing trade with stop losses set because of the jobs hours

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Chillmaster says:

wait a minute. Whats the point of short selling if youre just going to come out even? Or did i miss something/interpret something wrong?
