Hey this is tom nash. Welcome to another video, as always. I just asked that you don't click, nothing, don't smash, nothing and don't buy. Nothing.

Now today is a serious video. We have to talk about. What's going on in ukraine, there's some new updates. You absolutely want to hear also there's massive things going on in the stock market.

We have to talk about it. What happened yesterday and what's coming today? Also, some new updates about sanctions coming out out of the west towards russia and my conclusions about what just happened and what i think is coming next for the stock market, the u.s economy, the russian economy, the eu in general. Everything is going on right now in the stock market as far as geopolitics as well there's a lot to cover in this video, let's jump straight into it. I have to understand that this russian ukrainian war has been basically going on since 2014..

Now i'll be honest about it, i didn't think it's going to go that far, but it did. I underestimated putin's ability to put his ego in front of the needs of his people, and you know the lives of millions of people on the continent. Now he's literally sacrificing the people of ukraine and his own people just to fulfill this sort of fantasy of this grandeur complex that he has to become the czar of this new republic. Now putin has been czar for many many years he's been in control in russia.

For the past 20 years, the problem is that he was a czar. Without a kingdom, he only had one country, that's not enough to be a czar and that's why he took over belarus. I mean not officially but come on and now he's taking over ukraine, which is at this point inevitable. Now here's the thing you have to understand this gradual, complex putin isn't exactly the classic politician.

When you think about the us politician, it's very different than what putin is putin came from nothing. When i say nothing, i mean absolutely nothing total hunger. His family was under siege by the nazi forces. In 1942, his older brother passed away from hunger at the age of two.

His mom was passed out. They threw her in the grave mass grave just to find out she's actually still breathing. They pulled her out. He came from nothing, no money.

He worked his way into getting into the kgp actually became an officer got sent to germany and then this whole entire thing collapsed around him. Like a house of cards, he actually went back to being an illegal taxi driver just to make ends meet. So he went from this massive promotion, kgb officer climbing from the gutter into respectful position into a taxi driver at night. Now, obviously, he misses what he had and he has this kind of youthful wishful thinking about the communism and the ussr, and that whole thing is still with him because it went through his formative years.

You can't actually race it. You know what they say. You can take the kid out of ussr, but you can't take the ussr out of kid just as simple as that. So, let's talk quickly about what's going on right now in the field we have reports out of ukraine that ukrainian forces are fighting its russian forces on the outskirts of kiev, the capital that is insane also confirm reports that russia has taken over chernobyl.
The famous power plant just outside of kiev and the exclusion zone after the famous accident - and we do have confirmed reports of protests going on in russia. However, those are quickly and violently disrupted people are getting arrested, getting beaten up, it's literally a police state. Now, for now, putin is probably not too concerned about these, but every totalitarian dictatorship has this fear inside that these can develop into massive riots. So he has to be careful with this if he wants to continue doing this illegal activities in ukraine.

I hope and i pray that the russian people actually stand up and fight against this, but we don't know now. The thing is you have to understand that yesterday was probably one of the worst days in the history of the russian stock market. It lost 200 billion of its value in a single day. However, i don't think it matters to put in one bit because he's on a war path, this religious captain save a whole complex of you know this religious savior of russia and he's going to drag everybody.

The russian people, the ukrainian people, the european community, into the abyss of hell with him to fulfill this crazy religious prophecy, he's a 70 year old man obsessed with his legacy, and everybody will suffer as a result, so the russian stock market crashing. I don't think the dude even cares now as far as the u.s markets, if you would have told me just a few days ago that, on the eve of the biggest invasion in europe since world war ii, the nasdaq is gon na go up. Three percent palantir is going to go up 13 and the s p 500 is going to go by a percent and a half. I would have told you that you're smoking crack my guy, and yet this is exactly what happened.

This invasion is the biggest wild card. In the history of the u.s stock market, there's been very few days like this in history, go back and check, probably two three four days like this that we've ever seen - and this is pretty much incredible now the reason we saw this crazy bounce back. It has a few reasons: planeteer is probably tied more to the cyber security side of it. We saw massive spikes with crowdstrike fortinet paolo, auto networks, so every company that deals with risk cyber security and uncertainty, which is exactly where piloteer is at they enjoyed a massive spike, but the entire tech industry took a crazy run-up.

The thing is that the markets love certainty and the minute we had some certainty about what the hell is going on in russia and ukraine market is spiked, not to mention the fact that there's a lot of expectation that this would prevent the fed from raising interest Rates essentially creating that prep for a bull run. We just saw yesterday now here's the thing. I want to focus specifically on talent here now whether palantir goes tomorrow to 9 or 29. I could not care less.
The thing that proved to me yesterday that alex carp was right all along. If you care about palantir, is that he was talking about a change of world order. You have to understand that the russian invasion of ukraine has a lot more implications of just ukrainian russian relationships. It has implications on nato on the us on europe, mainly on former soviet russian republics.

Like kazakhstan, moldova, uzbekistan putin just created a new battlefield, a new cold war between the west and good guys and russia, china and their lackeys as the bad guys. Exactly exactly like, alex carp and piritial predicted for the last 17 years, it actually happened. I couldn't give less craps or f's or whatever you want me to say about the price action of valentia. Yesterday people thought i was excited about the 13 run up.

I couldn't care less if it goes to more to eight dollars or six dollars or 26 or 46. What i do care about is that alex carr prediction that the world is going to be much more chaotic in this decade and probably the decade after i actually came through yesterday with this invasion and as unfortunate as it is, and how much i hate. What's going on right now in russia and ukraine, this is not a moment that i'm celebrating i'm just telling you alex. Carp was right and that's why palantir is going to play a key role in this gotham and foundry is going to be a key role in managing this chaos and uncertainty, and if you can't see it just don't, invest i'm just sharing with you my opinion and We do have to talk about what's going on as far as sanctions, while putin is going full on full force into ukraine blasting his way through this peaceful non-provoking sovereign country.

The west is just standing by and looking at ukraine burn and doing nothing and that's kind of awful. I can't believe this is happening in 2022.. I can't believe it that we don't learn nothing from history from 1939 from 1956 to 1965. We haven't learned a damn thing: you don't appease these dictators.

It always leads to a bigger conflict down the road you have to give them back what they deserve. You can't keep appeasing a bully. It's a bad idea. If you ever went to a russian public school, you would know that that's crazy, now, sanctions.

As far as the u.s side, i don't understand. Four banks are blocked. Whatever uk is willing to take russia off of swift, which actually is good sanction, basically take them off of the world's payment service. However, the us is saying, according to biden speech, that's not on table not for the next 30 days, godly what the hell is going on.

Unfortunately, what we have here is a full force violation of international law by putting a complete stutter by the western world, which sends a very powerful message to former russian allies which are not in nato and to do ukraine itself. I don't know if ukraine elects the puppet government tomorrow, but the minute he's going to destabilize his country. He knows that eventually down the road he's going to get to belarus, ukraine into his old, warm russian bear hug. Now here's the thing, i'm a simple man.
I see undervalued stocks of great companies, i buy, i see volunteer cheap. I see tesla cheap, i buy as simple as that. I don't care about the price section. Couldn't care less? The problem here isn't the stock market.

While we talk about the stock market and it's all fine and dandy, we have people actually suffering in ukraine. We have children hiding in the subway instead of going to school and playing on the playgrounds they're hiding in the subway, hoping not to get chilled and we're talking about the stock market. So i can't make jokes about it and i can't talk about it without having goosebumps all over my hands. This is really infuriating and the worst part is this ain't over.

Yet this is just the beginning. China is looking at this basically saying: well, we got taiwan over here and that's pretty much damn near the same situation as ukraine, and we just saw putin, take ukraine and the west deadly squad. I guess what we should do with taiwan. I'm sure that they feel more involved right now, and i don't know if the us is actually going to protect taiwan.

The way they protected ukraine because mind you, ukraine got the promise from the us when they gave up their nukes back to russia. U.S promise to defend ukraine, so if you think that the us is going to defend taiwan, the west is going to defend taiwan. I don't know ukraine had the same promise, but i guess ukraine didn't have enough semiconductor chips for the u.s to fight for its freedom. It's annoying as hell.

Now again, you might agree with me. You might disagree with me. I don't know it's just my opinions, i'm a guy on the internet talking his mind, i'm not a financial advisor. I don't know, what's going to happen with the price action, i don't know what's going to happen in russia and ukraine, and i definitely don't want to know what's going to happen in taiwan and china, i'm just sharing with you the way i see the world.

I see a bully behaving like a bully and i see the big kid on the block. Looking at the bully beating up the little kid and doing nothing, that's never leading to a good place. Believe me, i've been there. I've been to a russian public school for many many years.

That's always gon na end badly for everyone. I hope i'm wrong, but let's see what happens see you tomorrow.

Hi, Tom! Caspian Report made a video a few weeks ago titled "How a russian invasion on ucraine would look like" and it gives some insight on the motives behind Putin's decision. Maybe this is not just pure ego play, it surely plays a part too tho'.

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gabriel Gray says:

The last violation of international law was the bombing of Yugoslavia, but Tom didn't care about it, he was silent. And the whole world community applauded together at the separation of Kosovo from Serbia. Get a response!

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jay Kay says:

Isn't the USA the only country to have ever used nukes … and used them on civilians? Didn't Zelenskyy say Ukraine would be acquiring nuclear bomb capability? Isn't it true Ukraine is controlled by internal neoNazi forces? Is it possible Putin is doing Ukraine and the world a favor by preventing this dangerous nuclear neoNazi combination?

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Neil McGeachy says:

Agree with Tom, Putin has sent a powerful msg to many countries including China. If i lived in Taiwan, i would be packing my bags. That occupation will inevitably come sooner then later …… The world is in a dangerous position today and the "new" China / Russia alliance is just what we dont need ……..

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Yourgirllovesmangos says:

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nick Finance Naija says:

Thanks for the history on Putin. And the great information

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Olexij Tkatchenko says:

You got it about the crazy Fuehrer. History is repeating

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rob Strong says:

Solid Tom we know Russian hackers are the best as youโ€™ve pointed out in the medium term Russia will wage war on European assets ie banks power grids telecoms etc
Palantir Crowdstrike etc will be mission critical countering this stuff

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Edward Gump OT says:

NKLA went up almost 18%!!!! NKLA isnโ€™t providing any security to this situation so far as I can tell. Yesterdays run up was unreal!

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jomar Sison says:

In my own opinion, Russia should replace Putin with someone better than him so that these things should end

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Viliam Beลˆa says:

I think you prejudged this whole situation way too early, all I know is that nato and USA had there shady business with ukraine related to weapons and stuff, in slovakia next to ukraine goverment decided to the same tactic and just sign up additional nato documents without consent of people and not even protests with near to 70 thousand people each day on weekends, major backlash and petitions was not able to stop them, in fact many politics got personal securities and police protecting them, because they are afraid of people.. and it was close related to this ukraine and russian conflict, as slovakia were already a part of NATO , but the USA wanted additional use of airports for "their own missions". Its the same if you look at ukraine president and milions his family donated to a Bidens family and the politics of silencing opposition presudent and media . Usually like your content of a very neutral look, but this time I think you are speaking of your best informations and believes. I live in slovakia next to ukraine, know many people from ukraine and things are way more tricky then "Putin is driven by his ego and dreams". Of course like always people gonna pay for very shady politics all around the world. Noneless I think USA after what they've done are the last that should call russia as aggressor.. politcis are the biggest evil, the media spins the situation how they want it to be spinned and everyone gonna believe what they want to believe anyway, just the truth lies as usual somewhere in the middle

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sander says:

Agree with you! You cant please Russia but unfortunately USA has a weak administration

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars S G says:

Tom you are great but you are letting your personal feelings get in the way of logic. ( with respect). If we go to war with Russia, China takes Taiwan for free. Unless the US wants to fight two wars (China and Russia). Russia will not touch a NATO country because that brings on WW3. I donโ€™t believe China will go to war with Taiwan but instead plant their political people to take over their govt. The flyovers by China is to make them think it will be a frontal attack.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Moon says:

Protection of Taiwan will mean screwing up the whole planet. Too much is at stake to intervene in that potential conflict. Russia will then join China together against NATO with a high risk of escalating to a global conflict.
Putin an Xi already baked pancakes together.
    โœŒ๐Ÿผ

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars W says:

Only thing is mr P. threatened NUCLEAR WAR if the west stepped in to help…. What do you do in that case??? It's like he is kicking our ally while holding a gun to our head. What do you do with that kind of madness? We should have pre-emptively helped them even more than we did. Ukraine should have also mobilized and handed out AK47s weeks ago.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars intelligentcomputing says:

Tom, as bad as this is, it would likely be a whole lot worse if NATO steps in.
Putin has the "west" in checkmate right now.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brian Boyle says:

What you are essentially seeing now is the approach that the KGB would have implemented if they were successful with their military partners in shutting down the fall of the USSR and removing Yeltsin from power in Russia. We are literally back in 1991 right now.

Also in terms of Putins psychology – we need to understand his own personal sense of things being robbed from him that Tom referenced at the start. Imagine being Putin and his KGB colleagues in Dresden as the wall came down – stranded, desperately burning documents as calls back to Moscow arenโ€™t being returned. Hung out to dry.

This was formative for him. And the bitterness still lingers.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Henrique Vacas says:

We'll see Taรฏwan down also. I'm with Ukraine. Greatings from Switzerland.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars e-motion says:

The mask were just a preparation for the helmets! Now serious. We the human race we are in deep shits. No not only Russia but every country in the world. We prefer our own wellbeing rather than living in peace. In 2022 more people will die from hunger than wars – as usual. Politicians around the world are no longer doing what is right but what will give them more power! The same with their supporters. The main problem is: politicians and elites are having too much powers

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nav D says:

I too was looking at the stock with a heavy heart. Felt like any gains will tainted with Ukrainian blood. But it is what it is sadly. Also feel for the ordinary Russians, who have nothing to do with this and are going to face the hate from others.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars M W says:

Since yesterday, Russians have been the best customers for gold dealers in Switzerland and Germany. They know the Swift lockdown is coming.

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars T Low says:

German minister of finance was surprisingly clear on SWIFT. He said they canโ€™t shutdown SWIFT because it is used to pay for the Russian gas. Closing SWIFT would lead to a energy-shutdown.
I think it would be wise if we Europeans would shut down the gas in the first place instead of waiting for Russia to do it.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Buck McAntlerson says:

I did not know all of that about Putin and his life history. Wow.

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars stonelane1827 says:

Putin has never cared about the west's sanctions. He has always done what he wants. He may get more kickback from the Russian people but Putin kicks harder.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Choi Btc says:

It is kinda stupid and over-simplified to just blame Putin's ego. It's a geo-political decision, not personal matter. NATO and the US did it hundred times like : attack Kosovo, invade Iraq, criple Venezuela.
    Disappointed. Unsub !

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars IAIN M RODGERS says:

Too late now – but an assurance that Ukraine would not join NATO would have fixed this problem.

You are right that it started in 2014. Putin did not start it. He's not being irrational – he has been forced to take action to prevent NATO missiles from being placed 3 minutes away from Moscow.
We still praise Kennedy from stopping missiles being placed in Cuba. This is the same.

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gustavo Diaz says:

Hey man I agreed with you that is a horrific thing is happening but let me tell you something from a guy who has been in the US ARMY for over 18 years of service and multiple deployments, what is happening in the Ukraine is very unfortunate situation but how many wars do everyone wants us to keep fighting? The Ukrainians need to turn this war into a gorilla war just like the Afghan did to us. We should be blaming the Europeans for this mess. Our government has been telling them for decades to stop buying energy from Russia and fueling their military. This is Europe mess, specially Germany. And on the Taiwan subject we will go to war for Taiwan just because if we loose Taiwan the entire west coast of United States is expose to immediate treat.

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A Bou says:

It is shameful to make citizens live in fear in a police state. Making people live in fear is a dishonorable legacy. People never respect or love a bully, no matter what their lips are forced to speak. Watching and waiting.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Natasha Raisor says:

I appreciate hearing the opinion of a man from there. This is a horrible situation. I agree with what you said. China has been trying to grab Taiwan for several decades. The Ukraine should of held on to their Nuclear Weapons. I donโ€™t know if the US will come in and save the day anymore. Thanks for sharing.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gjergj Camaj says:

You really can't blame Russia for being threatened by NATO putting in a puppet government and getting ready to put NATO forces on Russia's borders. The president of Ukraine was nothing but a western puppet. NATO got Ukraine in this mess and just left them as they always do to countries.
You are being far to naive about Putin. He clearly told the west not to manipulate Ukraine. Imagine Russia manipulating Mexico???? Yeah I think America would not like that

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars robert dorman says:

I truly believe that we are heading into ww3. If China invades Taiwan, that will be the tell sign. Within 4 years I think we will see it.

  35. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesus is God says:

Russia = Magog Ezekiel 38 just prophecy being fulfilled

  36. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LCSupreme says:

Although true and what is happening is horrible. We must always highlight the arrogant of the USA not listening to their concerns. Yes their concerns maybe unreasonable, but you talk and listen. You cannot just dismiss ppl because we feel superior and we are on the right side. You negotiate with everyone to avoid these type of scenarios.
