When Matt "Jail Bait" Gaetz was caught with his hands in the kids' nookie jar, he also went on a publicity tour to improve and deflect the real issue. Pelosi and her drunk husband are so guilty of insider trading and felonies, that she had to do a patriotic fear mongering trip to Taiwan. Nothing better than to stir up fears of war in order to distract from her crimes.
The CCP welcomes it because they desperately need a big distraction from their own zero-covid failures, banking meltdown, and Evergrande real estate collapse. Add to that with natural disasters, and a potential food shortage this year, getting the public to rally around Taiwan is a godsend. They are thanking Nancy Pelosi.

Hate to give you a thumbs down, but Pelosi's trip is not a distraction from the outsized returns of members of congress are independent of each other. The latter is ALWAYS TRUE, but there would be no need for the trip to Taiwan had Russia not invaded Ukraine. The US needs to re-shore leading-edge chip manufacturing to assure our supply chains (both commercial AND MILITARY) and Taiwan just happens to be an outsized supplier for the latest-and-greatest chips. Even with TSMC building fabs in Arizona, they will not be exporting the bleeding-edge tech and manufacturing knowledge. If history is a guide, this is her last year as Speaker, and this IS her "Farewell Tour"

While all this is outrageous for sure, I think it is just another relatively insignificant thing. If all those politicians would do all day was linger around on Robinhood, it would still be orders of magnitudes better than what they do when they acutally ´work´. They are the leaders of a state that infringes on people`s rights and freedoms, stifle an ever more regulated economy and is becoming more and more authoritarian. Let´s pay them a billion dollars each to literally do nothing and just leave us the f*** alone, we`d still be better of a thousand fold.
