The 7 Secrets of Happiness with Dr. Daniel Amen | Tom Ferry Podcast Experience
Making money and growing your professional success are important, but they’re not a surefire way to achieve happiness. Happiness and success both come from the same place – a healthy brain. Our brain health is the foundation of everything we do, because when you love on your brain, you’ll love your life.
Dr. Daniel Amen is one of the leading psychiatrists in the country and author of over 40 books (yeah, you read that correctly). I sat down with Dr. Amen to discuss his new book, “You, Happier” and all things you should be doing to feel and perform your best in life and business.

"I believe that the only courage anybody ever needs is the courage to follow your own dreams." -Oprah Winfrey
Listening to a podcast I heard that happiness is a consequence of an experience, it means that since it is an experience just like sadness, in different places I have heard the same thing that happiness is an accumulation of lived experiences that releases serotonin and endorphins but reading the book by dr daniel z liberman and michael e long says that the only way in which the neurotransmitters of the brain are regularized is by being in the present and in my opinion both have theses they are right, but from different perspectives since there is happiness with external stimuli and internal, but the difference between the internal is that nothing has to happen, just be present and be silent to see what the mind and body want to express. In a few words, be completely neutral in peace.
I learned to ask myself, “ good for my brain or bad for my brain?”.
"If you want to make a permanent change, stop focusing on the size of your problems and start focusing on the size of you!" -T. Harv Eker
I looooved this Tom!
My daughter‘s and I struggle with anxiety and I love the tip about the sauna AND reinforcing how terrible vaping is (I’m sure my daughters will be delighted for me to be passing that along)
I took tons and tons bc of notes but definitely would love a copy of this book! I’d also like to know if I were to get one other book of yours, Dr. Ahman which other one should I order???
Most important thing I learned is to not accept the facts…. I am getting older so it's ok to start forgetting stuff…
I learned that EVERY decision I make is either good or bad for my brain health, and to actively make decisions for my brain is extremely important!
The most important thing I learned is that I need to listen more to your podcasts and that I need to work on my sleep habits so that my life habits improve.
All this is 🔥. I now understand how important it is to take care of my brain now and not wait til I’m older. The damage I’m doing now will effect my brain years from now. Thanks for the podcast. So good!
The most important thing I learned is that caffeine has a 6 hour half life. I had no clue it took that long to get out of your system!
Great episode! Probably my favorite so far!
The most important thing(s) I learned were: Even being 25 years old, it's not too soon to start taking precautions to keep my brain healthy for later in life. Also, things that restrict blood flow (Nicotine, alcohol, being overweight, etc.) are bad for the health of your brain.
My female dog's name is Be Happy. This great interview affirmed that the reason that I am 75 and alive is because I value happiness and helping others and eating the right foods and taking most of his reccommended supplements. This is a testimonial for all the youngsters out there who want to stay vibrant and be happy as long as they live. My Mother never had sugar in the house. She said it was poison. No one ever offers me anything sweet. If they do, I say "I'm not a sweet person". That throws them off 🙂 Every morning I exercise for 1 hour. I am on Youtube show # 848 as "Ruthie Rocks". I keep my mind active and always listen to Tom Ferry and Jason Pantana so I can teach agents how to build their business. I teach social media and CE Classes every week. Again, I am not bragging, I am testifying to Dr. Amen's formula for a healthy happy fulfilling life. I ordered the book already and you should too!! 🙂 Or, give a valuable comment so you get a free one!
What a great interview! So many great tips but learning what my brain type is and what the best supplements or food to help feed a healthy brain.
Also love the fork in the road! Going to try that exercise with my family member who is struggling.
Loving foods that love my body
I learned that it is best to start your day with the following thought, "Today is going to be a great day" and end your day with, "What went well today?"
Thank you for such valuable content!
Thank you for having Dr Amen again.
The most important thing I learned is to stop consuming so much sugar as it destroys my true happiness. Happiness is a Moral Obligation. I must take care of my brain.
Love my brain. Ask myself. Is this good for my brain 🧠
Thank you ❤️
