How do you factor in the idea that these don't tend to do as well as consumer staple or healthcare companies during difficult times, because those needs can't be put off for long. But people can often put off replacing an older car. Also, TSLA doesn't pay a dividend, another thing those seeking shelter from inflation are known to prefer, although possibly not demand.
I want to believe the overall point, but am concerned about these details.

Tom – you're more than a financial analyst – you analyse the mindset behind business decisions. And that is the key to unlocking financial success in the stock market – although that is my opinion, and it may be blah blah blah. This was a priceless and timeless video. It's important in that it shows the flaws in a typical MBA's short term analysis, and the value in looking at financials from a " first principles " perspective. Essentially, maximise efficiency in everything you do – financial outlay (pay off debt quickly) – build quickly( reduce capex) – ramp up fast (increase profit). But Tom, you explained this so well, and how it's a master strategy in inflationary times.
