Everyone meet kevin here in this video we're going to break down the crisis in ukraine and all of the information related to russia's aggression. The latest, in terms of death tolls, is that we have a 525 injured in ukraine in terms of civilians, 227 civilians killed and an unclear number of ukrainian soldiers killed when it comes to russian soldiers. These numbers vary widely. Ukrainian president's adviser suggests that 7 000 troops have been killed so far that his russian troops have been killed so far.

Russia today for the first time, came out and said: yep we've had loss of life, but only 600. anyway uh. What we want to do right now is take a look at a picture of the control or rough control, since there is a lot of sort of resistance fighting in guerrilla warfare, which is what you would expect in fighting off an occupation. These are the russian occupied regions in ukraine, not to be confused with russian control.

It is very important to know that this particular city here just north of crimea has apparently today fallen. There is still a ukrainian flag, falling above a city hall. However, russian armed russian officers have entered the city hall and apparently have had discussions with the city mayor. I'm actually surprised they had discussions and not more than that, and now there are new rules in place for the city that do include the fact that individuals in this city can only walk in groups of one or two without potential arrest by russian troops within the City, this, unfortunately, is one of the largest and first falls of a large city in ukraine.

This is a city of about 300 000 people, again it's the first major city to be taken over and unfortunately, this is quite strategic because it allows russia to control that southern coastline being right above crimea there and allows them to really push west now uh. What we know is that in this particular town, there are apparently also soldiers who are now stealing from banks, but not just from banks, but also looting in stores. Now we've heard a lot of talk about how russian military individuals are actually running low on every sort of supplies, whether those are rations for food or whether that's just actual money, to be able to walk into a cafe and potentially even buy something. But uh here is some brief footage of what we're seeing in this particular town.

This is from the new york times so shout out to the times here, here's a little bit of footage from what's happening here and so clearly we could see in this city uh square here tanks and some ukrainians holding flags. Here's uh! You can see the white bands of the russian military and some active shooting happening here. Uh we do have russian troops now occupying. Unfortunately, this area here you see a little bit of shooting and then this officer appears to break, or this uh military person appears to break the glass to enter into this building, see a little bit more damage again shout out to the times here before that uh Preview here of what's going on, but either way absolutely terrible and not ideal.
Once we start seeing individual cities fall, that can definitely start hitting the morale. Now we did get another update from the president of ukraine, zielinski uh that uh. Obviously, ukrainians continue to fight and continue to resist. He seems to be doing these 1am updates ukraine time quite regularly now, which is great because in my opinion, it is the perfect way to keep that motivation high uh regarding refugees, it's worth noting that, right now we are up from about 500 000 refugees fleeing ukraine To about 870 000, the numbers are honestly probably much higher than these official accounts, but it looks like most people are going to poland about half of 454 000 to poland, 116 000 to hungary.

You've got 139 000 actually to russia less than 500 to belarus. So not a lot of people going to belarus 79, a thousand to moldova and 45 000 to romania. Now something else that's interesting. Is there actually people fleeing russia as well, though? Apparently, there are high-speed trains available from russia for either finnish or uh russian citizens, and they can go from saint petersburg to finland and back back and forth, and these trains have been heavily underutilized, especially during the pandemic.

It's about a three and a half hour commute, but now they're full these pla. These trains rather are selling out as russian nationals who are fed up with what's happening and and don't support. The war against ukraine are just saying we're done. We are going to move out of russia and they're going to finland in some cases from from russia now what's also interesting about this and potentially dangerous, is that political parties in finland are now having negotiations about how to potentially join nato, which it's worth looking at.

Uh sort of a google maps here to see the difference between st petersburg uh and finland to get a little bit of an idea about the difference here, or should i say not the difference, the the range between the two? It's actually not that far apart and what makes uh a lot was. Certainly russia nervous about this idea here. Is that wait a minute wait a minute! We've already got estonia, latvia and lithuania, who are members of nato, so you already have a nato line right here. Meeting moscow uh meeting russia and one of the the goals uh with belarus as sort of a buffer land is also making ukraine a buffer land, because if ukraine uh all of a sudden, joins the nato well, now we really start pushing into russian territory here right And so biden, of course, has vowed to maintain and defend every inch of nato territory along this line here and if finland joins nato, then we really have nato land that that really pushes all the way up.

The marshes and islands here along almost the top edge of russia, so to speak, so you can see that a little bit better when we zoom out here. It is a substantial land mass here that could uh that could be uh part of nato soon. So we'll see how that goes, we have not had official updates from the united states side yet now uh. What else is worth noting is that a lot of companies are coming out and reporting the potential effects of business in, or loss of business due to russia, for example, mastercard, which has nearly 19 billion or had nearly 19 billion dollars of revenue in 2021, expects about 1.1 billion dollars of annual revenue that usually comes from russia and ukraine to potentially not come this year, so that that would be a drop of about four percent uh.
In addition to that, boeing is ending support for russian airlines. Exxon is shutting down its oil production in russia, and this follows bp and shell out fertilizer delays are now feared. We know that the wheat etf w-e-a-t has been skyrocketing. Actually, ever since i mentioned it on friday, it's been going up which good for you, if you've been making money in it now, fertilizer stocks are taking off like here's a particular company nutrient.

It is a canadian company and this particular stock is taking off, because russia is a top exporter of nitrogen, about 17 percent of the world's nitrogen comes, which is obviously used in fertilizer now, of course, other things are becoming more expensive, palladium neon for chips, auto parts And many other things, even the fact that right now, you've got four suspending its joint ventures in russia, apple, stopping sales of products in russia, and not only is russia stock market closed, but russian companies are starting to get kicked out of emerging market etfs. Now, in my opinion, this is a little bit of a potential issue for the folks who are speculating on uh rsx, the vanic russian etf uh. There's a lot of speculation going on with this one. It's been quite volatile and by volatile i mean mostly it's been straight down.

You see this massive boost in volume over here. One of the problems with okay, one of the problems with this one folks is not only is the russian stock market closed, which means it's really difficult to actually know the underlying value of these companies. So it's kind of like an etf. Imagine like the spy trading without knowing how much apple was selling for or microsoft or all of things that make up the spy right.

That would be really difficult. I mean you would just be blindly trading the spy it'd be very, very weird. That's literally what's happening with this russian etf, but not all - and this is obviously one that we could trade here in america. But not only are these companies not trading in russia, but you also have these russian companies now getting kicked out of etfs around the world, which could also lower their valuations right, so so very, very risky here uh to be diving into these uh now this is Uh, just a quick little convenient spot to mention by the way that crypto prices are obviously on the move and if you have not yet checked out ftx, please do so check out ftx linked down below.
You can sign up for this crypto uh exchange and they incorporate trading views trading system, which is absolutely incredible for technical analysis. It seems like right now we're presently getting rejected at about 44k. A lot of these jumps, though people have been wondering. Why are we seeing these moves? Is it because uh people in russia and ukraine are diving into crypto, especially btc as a safe haven, it's possible, but the latest data that we have from vandertrak indicates that we could actually have been experiencing a short squeeze in bitcoin.

Rather than just retail inflows, of course, though, when we have short squeezes, fomo happens and you do end up with retail inflows, but anyway check out ftx our sponsor for this video in the description link down below the united nations general assembly voted today in favor of Condemning russia, we had 141 uh countries out of uh about 195 186 voting in favor of condemning russia. Of course, russia, belarus, north korea, syria and eritrea voted against this action and there were 34 countries like iraq, iran, india and china, who have all abstained from this vote, but 141 did vote to condemn russia. So this does mean that the united nations has condemned russia. What this actually does is probably a whole big.

Nothing regarding keefe keeve is presently being attempted to be encircled by russian forces. However, the 40-mile long convoy that we saw in satellite images approaching kiev has actually not made any progress in the last two days. Not only have they come under attack, but the pentagon says they appear to be bogged down because of food shortages, fuel shortages attacks and get this sabotage now. Russians who are fed up with the resistance they're getting from the strong ukrainian people are starting to punch holes into the gas tanks of their vehicles, gumming up the convoy because they don't want to fight in ukraine.

At the same time, you've got 15 000 people huddled up in the subway system in kiev, which is terrible because, if key falls, those are a lot of people trapped in the subways. Of course, i don't blame them for being in the subway systems, when this is a tv tower in ukraine that actually ends up receiving a missile strike, and this is because russia is trying to limit the spread of information. Imagine that hearing the word information, not dis or miss just information - take a look at this strike here right here boom. Ah, it's just terrible again uh russian tv tower here.

This footage brought to us by the wall street journal as well as some additional footage that we can see throughout uh keeve. Now many folks are expecting this uh this, unfortunately, to be a temporary slowdown of the convoy that attacks are going to continue, including the use of cluster munitions, which many countries have actually banned from using in war. However, russia and the united states have not banned the use of cluster munitions now. Kharkiv is also presently getting surrounded, and in addition to that, we are seeing a lot of damage to civilian areas and to cafes and to hospitals and schools, which is very, very terrible.
In fact, if we hop over here, you could see a cafe in kharkiv just totally destroyed. I mean absolutely terrible. You could see you could see the seats here. You can see the tables here.

You can see how seats and insulation have just been ripped, open and destroyed glass counters here shattered. You could see coffee machines back here with a tree logs uh which, which appears to be part of their decorations here, but everything is just destroyed. You can see the collapse of the ceiling back here and the insulation coming down. It's just absolutely terrible uh.

It's really terrible, especially since people put their their livelihoods into uh. Their businesses secretary of state blanket suggests that we are setting up a task force to freeze assets of russians and also to seize jets, yachts, homes and even germany today has said. They've already seized a yacht of a german oligarch. Boris john johnson is facing pressure to take action against wealthy russians in london.

We also have a human blockade and a nuclear plant uh in uh in ukraine. Right now - and you have to say these people are - are so tough. I am so impressed with this. I mean it.

I i just hope well, first of all that nobody has to deal with this, but if we were ever in such a situation uh that we would have uh even a tenth of this style of courage, i mean look at this. This is just uh they're setting up sandbags and tires waving, uh uh. You know ukraine is great or glory to ukraine, uh and and just essentially as humans, blocking the road to this power plant. It is unreal uh.

What else is unreal and remember? You can always go to my twitter profile uh by going to at real meat kevin. If you hop over here to the likes, you can get a little bit more footage of some of the things that are going on or images of what's going on in ukraine. Here, for example, an underground now kindergarten. This breaks my heart, especially as having a four and six year old it just it really strikes close to home.

Seeing this underground uh here are images of of what appear to be russian soldiers, uh, looting, cash registers and uh and and rations and food uh. Sometimes they eat it on the spot. That makes sense. I i do believe the food issue, because we are hearing more and more that uh food is is a lack, is a huge issue for the russian military.

Uh here are protests in saint petersburg. Russia uh here are explosions outside of central keefe. This is terrible. This just happened while i was actually prepping the filming of this video uh yeah, i mean there's, there's plenty of footage here, that you could look at damage in uh and - and i just encourage you to uh - go through my uh my twitter profile here.
Look at this cancer patients being evacuated from a children's hospital uh it just it. It's it's so heartbreaking and you see just the world coming together. Uh protesting and fighting uh this this disaster, so uh in in other news. We also have a now secret intelligence report out that apparently china knew that the russian invasion was going to happen and uh.

They had asked putin to purposely delay their invasion until after the olympics were over, and this was a little bit of a jaw-dropper to me. But also not shocking the uh individuals, the the report cited that uh putin had asked where putin was asked not to invade until the end of the olympics and sure enough. The very day after the closing ceremony on the 20th putin started his takeover in the insurgent-controlled region in eastern ukraine and then on february 24th, the 23rd here at night in america, uh putin started his attack early in the morning at about 5 30 a.m. A lot of folks are presently seeking refuge in levive, which is about 45 miles from poland and has so far been uh spared of a lot of the damage in war, though they are quite far to the west.

So only time will tell how levi survives biden. So far, working on tech restrictions against belarusian and russian oil, but these are just controls against oil. Still. No sanctions on russian oil, which i think is quite shocking, especially since we import about 7.9 percent of our oil from russia.

51.3 percent comes from canada, which would be nice to have the keystone pipeline on days like this, you also have some oligarchs stepping down from large positions of power. This person has a very similar name to vladimir putin. It's actually vladimir putin potenin one of those stepped down from the guggenheim museum board. He was on the board since 2002., petre evan, stepped down from the royal academy of arts in london and valerie gregev was removed as the chief conductor of the munich philharmonic orchestra.

Well, folks, there's your update on the disaster in ukraine, uh thoughts and prayers to the strong-willed people of ukraine and i hope the resistance wins. Thank you so much for watching this video and we'll see in the next one stay safe and goodbye.

why do you keep saying " unfortunately?" We should look at these things with an objective unbiased view. There's a conflict, itinvolves two sides, you don't have to say 'unfortunately" constantly when one side wins, or an other side loses .. neither you or I know the whole story to this conflict and we should have great humility when reporting on it..
