To paraphrase a quote by the great trader Jesse Livermore, “There is a time to go long, there is a time to go short, and there is a time to go fishing.”
Today’s not the prettiest day in the stock market. We’ve got the disappointing jobs report, a tech stock sell-off, and the news flow is generally negative.
This isn’t the type of day to get aggressive. It’s the type of day to be really careful, to check all the boxes, and really question why you’re getting in a trade.
Is it truly an A+ setup or are you bored and looking for some action?
Here’s what I’m watching today…
By no means is Intec Pharma Ltd. (NASDAQ: NTEC) an amazing company. But it just spiked on very dubious news, and the volume is there. This low float stock was hanging around in the premarket, so I saw it as a 9:45 or later contender.
I’m not super interested in Liquid Media Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: YVR). To me, this is just a super sketchy NFT play. I don’t like the chart action.
Jeez-o-Pete! Why did these guys do an offering? Alset Ehome International Inc (NASDAQ: AEI) is down for a good reason. Traders should NEVER try to guess the bottom on a dilution. I suggest avoiding this one.
Cerecor Inc (NASDAQ: CERC) had a little bit of a pop. But it’s in a no-longer hot sector, it’s got a choppy chart, and it’s relatively high float. I’m tempted to call it an ignore...
Sorry, friends, but there are a LOT of ignores today. As the wise technical analyst Shakira once said, “Charts don’t lie.”
For instance, the chart action on BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc (NASDAQ: BCRX) is disgusting. It’s a big no for me.
Despite the fact that I wouldn’t shut up about Palantir Technologies Inc. (NYSE: PLTR) last fall, things have changed. The trend was up then. Right now, this stock is dead. I’m giving up on it until it breaks out.
As for Nio Inc. (NYSE: NIO) as a red-to-green? Ew, ew, ew. This is a great example of a broken chart.
