It is only a male-dominated field because women make a conscious decision not to enter the field. No due to any underlying discrimination. Yet, usually when women enter these male-dominated fields they DEMAND that the culture change to accommodate them and any whim they desire.
Like I tell my wife, "speak when your spoken to and shut up when your appreciated".
