A little correction.
1. Cathie is talking about 2025. By than Tesla will easily worth $3000. In fact, I think her real price target is much higher.
2. Elon is exercising his stock options, so he'll end up with the same amount of shares, if not more.
3. Also, most likely Elon is doing this to get people off his back about taxes. He pays a shitload of taxes now that he could have avoided paying.
4. As a bonus he will end up a a little play money. He were living on loans against his shares for many years now. It's a bit silly for the richest man on the planet to be poor.
5. Do you really think he'll just sit on this cash? Or buy a yacht? No way. He is playing 4D chess. I'm pretty sure he'll invest most of the money in one of his other companies, or even start yet another one. He is likely to get better returns hat way than keeping his money in Tesla. While Tesla will still grow very fast, I think his other companies will beat it soundly in a few years.
Burry is a part time bear that got lucky once. The rest of the time he made money as a bull. Stop acting like he is a perma bear

What will Elon "do with the money"? I think he'll pipe a fair amount into SpaceX (no-brainer here) AND new investment into Tesla's business. Oh, and he also has that "tunnel" project, which will require more funding. HIs solar business can always use more capital. A new / related business venture as well? After all of this, he'll still have enough left over for a few "upgrades" to his Texas home. I see cuisinart in his future 😊

“If this was true, Elon would not be selling $7B…” Elon is selling stock so that he can pay the income taxes on exercising stock options that expire in August 2022. He is doing that now because he worries that the current administration will impose additional taxes (income or capital gains) on billionaires, and because he believes the stock will be higher in the future, and it’s better for him to pay capital gains tax on that increase vs. income tax. Note that he is selling stock in order to INCREASE his stake in Tesla. His ownership will go up after he exercises.

Sorry but Michael Burry has made numerous good calls, long history of investing success. When he shorted Tesla he made lots of money this summer. But you may be right he is wrong on Tesla.
I don't think Cathy and Tom's projections are mutually exclusive unless they're in the same timeframe. What is the targeted date for the $1500 Tesla valuation? Cathy's $3000 target is for 2026 IIRC.

I had a PT of $1,200 for TSLA @ Q4~2021 initial numbers release.
The $1,200 PT seems like a bearish level, definitely not a base level.
Now it’s $1,977 for Q4~2022 initial numbers release. Probably a split in late 2022-23:early.
