Lordstown has a factory, a production line and robots that for political reasons they were able buy on the cheap and a pickup design.
The dodgy orders are a bit of fake 'til you make it, an attempt to get people to believe in the company.
Hindenburg also points out that one of the trucks caught fire. And that some people think the CEO is a showman/conman.And that Work horse wanted him out.
And that former employees think they will be late in delivering the vehicle (like every other EV company)
All in all, THIS Hindenburg report is a bit light, you can tell that from all the detail they gave on the dodgy orders rather then starting with a summary.
It just isn't the same as their report on Nikola.
Crazy how this CEO used to work for Workhorse, created a new company that does the same thing. Then his own employees accuse him of misallocating "R&D funds" which is something another big EV startup has had trouble with recently. Hmm… Connection?

i work at a University and there are plenty of companies that do this. they ordered a LIDAR and it wasnt delivered until a yr and half later.

So he buy some unproven tech from workhorse and buy a closed down factory from GM, refurnish it. And with some unbinding fake orders the company now worth 2 bil+ ??? LOL Money comes so easy these days.

Yes, the SEC needs to examine all the "orders" of new EV start ups. It's fraud for Lordstown to pay 50 bucks for me to fill out a non-binding order for 500 trucks when I don't even run a fleet. Hindenburg did the job that the SEC should have done to protect investors. WINNER: Hindenburg. JMO.
I live 20 minutes from this facility, they are building something around it.
