#lasvegas #lasvegasnewyears #newyearslasvegas
All right, so i just experienced bringing in the new year of 2022 in las vegas. I had a great time, but i know last year a couple days ago, i was actually searching on youtube for how to survive vegas, how to do vegas for new year's eve, and i want to show you guys too, because i learned a lot and i want To help you guys out as well, so let's get right into this video. Let's talk about about a good 12 things that i think you should do and know to plan your new year's trip to las vegas and have the best time in your life. First things.
First, you got to find somewhere to stay now. What i will say is what i did last year was i booked my hotel for new year's six months out or or more the reason. I say that is here's, why my room at harrah's was just a standard room was nice, it looks like it was renovated, as well, very renovated, very nice. It was about 500 total, and that was six months out that same room.
When i looked at the last when i actually got to vegas, i was curious that same room was about 299 at night, so i saved myself a ton of money booking in advance. Most of these hotels do not require a full deposit. It may be a fraction of the cost to hold the room, and you know, obviously, if you cancel within a certain amount of time, you get your money back. I strongly strongly advise you guys unless you guys are rich or if you don't want to save any money book, your hotel reservations and accommodations in advance.
There's going to be a lot of things sold out places like the cosmopolitan are going to be a thousand dollars. A night for new year's eve night and then on a regular day like as i noticed, the very next day, because we wanted to extend our stay and it was january 1st 2022 that very next day. Well, no, it was january, 2nd, 2022. The very next day after everybody's gone, that same roman herreras were trying to give me something for 13 per night.
The cosmopolitan was about 60 per night, so they made so much money off of new year's eve. The festivities and the holidays that they can give me a room for 13 as opposed to that same room being almost 300, a couple nights before book, your hotels and advance people. This was new for me and i didn't think about it. Do not judge, but when i go to vegas i think of outside, i think about walking around with alcohol.
I think about warm clothes sitting by a pool. Las vegas is very, very cold in december it snows in las vegas. It was about 32 degrees, new year's eve night. We were standing outside, bring warm clothes now.
Some of you may know this and be like well duh. I did not know that because every time i go to vegas, i think of the sun, i think of the drop tops that i get with the ford mustangs and i just have a great time bringing warm clothes guys if you didn't know, because i definitely didn't No judgments on here be aware of road closures and the most popular road is the strip las vegas boulevard. I believe it's called, but i just call it the strip where bellagio is where cosmopolitan is where harrah's is mgm, graham, that long strip of casinos closed hotels are going to be closed off for cars, you'll only be able to walk the entire strip. It starts around new year's eve night around four to five p.m. Traffic starts to heat up, 2 p.m. You see a lot of cars and things like that. Just keep that in mind. You won't be able to drive through the strip.
So if you need to get somewhere in the strip you get there and you stay there, get there early, possibly because strip is closed down and it'll, reopen, i believe, around three or four in the morning the day of new year's it'll kind of be regular. When you wake up after the hangover or whatever you guys were doing, it'll be back to regular the next day, but for that, for you know, hours couple hours of duration. Prior and after the new year's celebration, the road's only closed to pedestrians, walking the whole strip. Now, going into that, i would say: arrive to the strip early.
The reason i say that because everything closes as far as parking parking gets full and we'll talk about animating them and also the royal closes. So if you got somewhere, you got to be. If you know you got to be somewhere, if you want to be in a specific part of the strip, get there early try not to run late with anything like that, it's gon na be a lot of traffic. It's very busy! You have hundreds of thousands of people coming in to las vegas.
It's like a new york city. You know celebration, you see the news, you got a couple three, you got like three main places and one of those main places is las. Vegas on tv, las vegas gets it poppin it's great for new year, so make sure you get places early. Now, following into that, i'm saying that parking garages get full quickly.
It was around 2pm. I was at cromwell where dre's nightclub is, and we were in there. Just gambling getting some food and i had valet and the ballet guy it's 2pm and he's like. Are you leaving soon or are you going to be parked here or somewhere soon, and i was like not probably soon why he was like? Well, you need to hurry up just kind of giving you a tip, because a lot of the valet and parking garages are getting full a lot of the places get full around 2 or 3 p.m.
New year's eve day, because they have nowhere to go they're. You know they're trying to park their cars so they're, so they are safe. You know, vegas is a good city, but there are crimes on the street. Unfortunately, so you know they want to park their cars somewhere safe, they're, not going to be driving their car because they're, probably drinking and doing all other kinds of things.
So if you're going to be someone who's going to be out on the strip, make sure you have secured yourself a parking spot, so you're not stranded or your car is not stranded somewhere. It doesn't need to be because that's not good going into that. I would probably highly suggest maybe doing ride share services. Instead, i did rent a car through toro this time it was cheap and i would say for sure, if you're staying new year's eve night, you don't really need one like. Obviously, if you guys live in california or somewhere, close, obviously you'll be driving and you know keep your cars parked. But if you were flying in from atlanta like i was probably didn't - need a rental car, especially not that night or that day, because everything was not just slow motion as far as cars, a lot of traffic, and things like that. So i would strongly consider, especially if you got dinner, reservations at nine o'clock, new year's eve night and you live. You know, you're on the strip get some.
You know ride, share services that way you can just get out the car get as close as you can be to where you are and walk the rest of the way. It's going to save time and it'll, probably save you some money too again. You know just keep that in mind as well. One thing i will say about ride share services is the up charge in this, specifically the closer you get to the actual new year's time.
So you know eight o'clock, nine o'clock and a lot of the rideshare services like uber and lyft will not allow you to schedule rides after a certain time frame, so they can up charge you. So if you are trying to go places make sure you are scheduling. If you can, but then the closer you get to the actual, you know 12 a.m time. I think it was around 8 o'clock.
I tried to schedule a ride for later and i couldn't do it anymore. So just make sure you are scheduling your rides. Keep that in mind that it may be more pricey to start doing, ubers and lifts like that. So it really depends.
Do you want a rental car and it's you know, you got gas and at least you have a car, you can get somewhere and you'll pay one price and that's it or you can do uber and lyft. It may be more convenient for you, but you may get up charged um the upcharge this year. Wasn't that bad for me, so i would probably next year from here on out, would do ride. Share services over rental cars, keep your valuables at home or in your hotel room securely.
Okay, new year's eve. It is hundreds of thousands of people on the strip, you're, bumping, elbows and everything. A lot of theft happens, though there are cops there to prevent it. A lot of theft will happen.
I don't want you walking around with your wedding ring on the strip on new year's eve when people are bumping into you bring some cash but keep a lot of it. If you know you're not going to need it in your room securely, don't bring anything like wedding rings and stuff out you'll lose it you'll, get it stolen. It's the worst thing that can happen to you. I don't want to happen to you, i'm not wishing on you.
I'm just saying: keep the stuff uh, you know securely. I saw a lot of fights. I saw a lot of intoxicated people passing out. We saw a lot of things that were entertaining for us, but we need to kind of be safe and keep our valuables away or at home or in our rooms. If you want to go to dinner, you want to go, see shows which i'm sure you do, because that's what las vegas is about do those early as well. I'm talking like gordon ramsay's hell kitchen is already always booked on a regular day. So if you want to go to gordon ramsay's hell kitchen to celebrate for new year's eve book, it a few months in advance or as early as possible, because gordon ramsay's hail kitchen and a lot of the other restaurants, the closer you get to new year's, more People are coming, more, people are booking, it is going to be sold out and you're going to be stuck eating, in-n-out, burger or subway on a strip for your new year's meal, which is not a problem. But for me for new year's like to celebrate so make sure you book your things early, some hotels will only allow you inside of the hotel on new year's eve day or evening.
If you have a players card or if you're staying there. So keep that in mind too, i think cosmopolitan is one of the hotels. Don't quote me, i believe so i didn't really get to go inside. I know harris was blocking things off after the fireworks were done, but just keep in mind.
Some of the hotels will not let you in after a certain time to kind of limit the capacity of their guests, because it gets very, very busy and they don't want to be overcrowded, buy food and alcohol off of the strip. If you want to maintain a budget now, i will say this for sure. If you are trying to be super super cheap, las vegas is not for you on probably anytime, but really on new year's, because a lot of things are up charged. But if you want to save money on alcoholic beverages and things of that nature and food, get your food and alcohol off the strip, maybe bring your alcohol with you from, even if you're flying in or something like that, bring it with you or go off the Strip and buy your alcohol and everything else, because it's going to be an upcharge is vegas you're, going to take advantage of that.
That's the city that monetizes our opportunity so they're going to monetize off of the opportunity. You know up charge with alcohol and food. All that stuff so make sure you buy your things off the strip or bring it beforehand: hotels and restaurants off of the strip, in my opinion, give you a better view. If you want to see all of the fireworks now, you got two options.
Really you can be down there like how we were this year because i booked still a little bit too late right still, i booked my hotel early, but i didn't make my reservations early, so i made a mistake and i'm you know man enough to share that With you guys so hotels off of the strip, which i should have done, give you a better view, because that's what i wanted, i wanted to see the whole strip. It was still an amazing thing to see nothing wrong with being down there with everybody doing a countdown on las vegas strip, and you see the fireworks coming off of every hotel that you can think of which was amazing, never seen anything like that in my life. But if you want to see all of all of the hotels simultaneously go off with a better, you know, bird's eye view, i'd say of everything. Definitely look at places off the strip. Some of the places off the strip would be like the rio. The palms place, not palms palms, has been closed since the pandemic, the palms place still open. You can do airbnb on palms place. You can also do stratosphere, it's really high in the air and we'll talk about stratosphere in a quick second, but if you want to see everything book, hotels, early off of the strip to get the best view, the last thing is what we did.
We did a reservation for top of the world at the stratosphere. Now, by the time i reserved it, they only had reservations for about five or six o'clock around that time. Vegas gets dark in december around five six five, five thirty ish, sometimes four thirty um. You know vegas time, so it was still nice and dark.
It was on the rotating floor. The view was amazing. It was amazing right, but one thing that we didn't get to do was we didn't get to take advantage of the firework celebration that they have on top because it was already sold out just to let you guys know the top of the world reservations for the Fireworks, i think it starts at like 10 p.m at night, or something like that they charge about 375, a person now that does include drinks, gratuity and all your food, but it's almost 700 for just two people, so make sure you bring the big bucks. If you want to do that, for me, it cost about 175, a person to do the regular dinner without the fireworks.
Then, after that we went down to fremont street and had a great time down there. That's another thing: guys fremont street, so i'll kind of just roll that into here go to fremont street as well. You'll get a completely different atmosphere of fremont, more laid back and chill some shows are going on. You can do the ziplining and all that stuff.
Then you go to the strip and you'll see other things. These are my my tips on how to survive. Vegas for new year's. You follow these tips.
I think you'll be fine. Let me know if you guys have any other tips down below. If you are a frequent um, you know flyer to vegas, especially for new year's. I hope you guys enjoyed this video make sure you like share, subscribe, you'll, be safe and i'll talk to you soon enjoy vegas.
