hey this is tom i pulled over i no longer drive when i make these videos so check this out jerome powell was speaking today and he said a few important things that hide some admissions of guilt i want you to understand this because it was hidden in the sea of verbiage that literally means nothing so he was talking a lot with his usual spiel about how they're committed to inflation etc etc etc but check this out one thing he said and this was no accident i guarantee you is that we don't know if we can deliver to you we the fed if we can deliver to you the american people a soft landing so just to remind you a soft landing is essentially the term the fed coin it kind of became the transitory of 2022 the soft landing so basically the idea was hey the fed is going to slow down the economy by raising interest rates and cutting out the money from the market slow down the economy but just enough to stop inflation but not enough to crash the economy now again i don't know how to do that i don't think it's possible but they were saying they can and so far they've been very consistent with the idea of as soft landing as possible soft laying as possible this is the first time where we heard jerome powell today say hey we're not sure if we can give you a soft landing so what he's doing here you need to understand what's going on here jerome powell has one mandate forget all this you can quote all the mandates it doesn't matter it honestly has one mandate like free of real without the which is basically to calm you mother lovers down so you don't do stupid to relax everybody how come a guy with so much brain power would tell you for a year that inflation is transitory what would be the reason you don't think he knew come on the reason is to calm you down and just to show you that every time he eases us into bad news by dropping these little gems while he's talking about his usual stuff you know how transitory became a little bit more persistent much more persistent whoa inflation is horrible we're committed to it fully otherwise you know that's the most important thing we've ever done but we'll give you a soft landing and now we don't know if we can give you soft landing and i guarantee you in three or four months we're gonna hear him again saying hey we're going into hard recession but he took you there slowly by easing you into it it's called the salami method when you slice off a piece of the salami until you go all the way through you don't just chop it off so that's what he's doing i want you to understand this because what he's saying makes no sense go read what he said go read what he said because he's saying hey we can slow down the economy just enough to kill inflation and if you want a soft landing we're gonna have to have a very tight job market the job market needs to be strong for us to achieve that you cannot slow down the economy and stop inflation by destroying demand without losing jobs without absolutely annihilating the job market it don't make no sense it's it's two things that literally cannot coexist on the same plane of existence and he knows that but he has to say to you so you don't freak out so you're slowly getting eased into the bad news now i'm not an expert in macroeconomics i'm not an expert in any of this i'm just an expert in human beings trying to me now i don't like when people try to me and they are not level with me i much prefer an honest approach from the fed to come out say hey this is where we're going it's not going to be pleasant this is rehab rehab is painful it's unpleasant but it is what it is instead of this now i don't know what you prefer but that's what i prefer if you're easily offended again don't watch my channel that's fine but that's my thoughts my two cents see you next video don't let them you into this.

The only way a soft landing "was" possible was to bring down real estate and land prices, the reverse wealth effects with rising rates could have made people think twice on spending, while the employment market remains as a thicker cushion. But now it's too late, because it cannot happen without rising unemployment. Once again, the fed is behind the curve, it's too late for a soft landing, that ship has sailed. What's left is the doomsday clock counting down to the apocalypse.
