Lol I'm an energy derivatives trader for a hedge fund… this idiot has no idea what he's talking about. Talking about break out, but why? What was the catalyst?
First as foremost natural gas is a storage based market and Storage has a Iron Grip in the gas market. The NG markets needs to clear supply and demand daily and storage operators are the incremental buyer/seller that balances the market. It creates demand in the summer to fill the caverns and supply in the winter when the facilities withdraw. Spot price and the forwards move around to incentive storage players to participate in the market by injecting/withdrawing.
This Summer, Cash was strong relative to winter and did not incentivize storage players to inject. The market generally built this narrative in its mind that production growth will continue to grow at an astonishing pace and the market will "no longer need storage". This caused us to come out of the summer with historical low storage inventory. As early cold started + low inventories, fundamental traders realized that the probability of "running out of storage" by end of winter was significantly higher compared to previous years.
Can someone explain to me why I shouldn't expect DGAZ to push back up to 300+ mark? I made the rookie mistake of bagholding this in Nov when it tanked and then they revaluated it. Selling at 150$ would make me break even. Seems like I can just be patient until then (or higher). Now I know better than to hold onto an ETF for much more than a week. But I'm just figuring I might as well just hang on until then right? (even if that takes a few months)
There is always the "is" and the "why" when trading. Be smart. Some people only go by the "is" and some by the "why". Some will combine both.
look, techy dummy right here looks at RSI and MACD bumping at sealing level thinking it's overbought then decided it's shaky the situation of underlying securities.
quick question, when some big commodities like gas and oil are having a huge price movement, is it gonna change its "situation" just because your RSI and MACD line was up?

Hi, right now I use TD for my trades which is $6-7 per trade.. I really love the thinkorswim platform and also TD is great but Robinhood with the free trades sounds really enticing. Is Robinhood truly free and all together is it a great app to trade?
