Mac people are kind of silly with all thinking they are the only users on the internet. Is the apple change a hit to ads? Yes. Does it affect all traffic? Not even remotely.
I'll tell you what will. GDPR type rules, which apple is preparing for. Users want their PII back. Who will this hurt? All advertisers and publishers. Who will benefit? Google, Apple, Facebook, etc. All these large companies that can link you to a billion things via a logged in account. Don't like those companies but want to advertise? Too bad.
Yes mark has gone full lizard on vr, but they are probably going to stay dominant in that market. Cell phones were unruly bricks. CD players cost as much as a car. Be early, be patient.
The thing with vr and ar is you have to learn how to separate immersion from your physical self. Not even consciously. Dizzyness and whatnot just goes away with practice and good software development practices. A bad camera experience will make you dizzy. Stuff like that is largely solved now.
You should dive into it a bit before being critical based on boomer 5 minute reviews. That's how you turn into the old investor guy who's right about a lot but wrong about the big things.
A lot of crazy things are coming into the space. You might be right about Meta/fb but I think you're wrong with vr. And that's okay.

Why pay platforms for advertisement when they can just pay the influencers to get targeted ads at a fraction of the price. To me it seems obvious that has been the shift.

I noticed that new car dealers suddenly stopped advertising because of the auto shortage. They pay huge bucks for ads and the media companies surely suffered slumps.

Be careful how you use logic. Many ideas can have internal consistency but be inaccurate.
Have you deep dived the UN digital library?? A lot of wild stuff I found. Basically the plan for the economy. Marketing/Advertising will be a thing of the past. There will be constant demand for goods but no plans to meet demand – this is by design. The plan is for people to rent everything, including home goods like blenders and coffee makers. It's clear they want to drastically reduce consumption and production. They actually want businesses to go out of business and close forever. There's also underlining desire for global control of food consumption. To me, I see MASSIVE layoffs in future (this demand for service jobs is temporary). Production is halting as companies would rather produce less with little-to-no labor costs for an exorbitant premium. Factories are already slowing and many shutting down (lexus/toyota w/ worldwide factory closures just cut production AGAIN); yet, nobody is talking about this.
From what you talk about you are pretty set … can you give advice that doesn’t advertise your courses if you really cared about us
