I have also noticed that Google throws up mostly negative articles about Tesla. Is it because I reinforce this tendency in my selections? There is implicit confirmation bias built into the YouTube algorithm because they serve articles similar to the ones you have viewed in the past. If you click on negative Tesla articles you might be reinforcing selection of more negative articles. This is only a conjecture, however. I'm not sure that even Google knows exactly how their algorithm works, though they know more than we do. A possible test is to select only positive articles for a while to see if the general trend changes.

Good article, though. I'll try selecting for positive articles and watch what happens…

Do one on Bernie Sanders and compare the negatives and positives (if there are any). Washington Post came out with like fifteen articles all negative within days of each other. Other corporations msnbc, cnbc, cnn, nytimes, etc included.

This is not scientific at all unless you are not logged in to google as they personalize results.

I think google tried to buy Tesla at some point. Guess they are still pissed at Elon. Google is also corrupt as shit.

As a Tesla share holder, this is interesting. Yet another reason why the stock price goes down when production and revenue are up.

This isn't true. Google is actually not capable of changing what is shown to the public on their own website. When you search up 'cnbc tesla', you are looking at the most POPULAR articles based upon a variety of factors that relate to the search words 'cnbc tesla'. No wonder you found negative articles in the top 15, they were the most relevant and popular articles relating to 'cnbc tesla'. If Google put up CNBC's 3 positive articles about Tesla, despite them not being the most popular, CNBC would outright sue Google for misrepresentation of information to the public. Because you searched up 'cnbc tesla' on Google you saw CNBC's trendiest articles, their negative ones. The blame lies solely on the shoulders of CNBC. Don't blame the messenger if you didn't see what you wanted to see.

Yahoo on several occasions re-post old negative Tesla articles so yahoo is worst overall.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars cicirunner says:

The negative news on Google is just based on what is out there. Majority of articles and news chatter is anti-Tesla. Google is not anti-Tesla. Their CEO is a shareholder and supporter of Tesla and tried to buy them out in the past.

Are they all the same articles?? I find many more articles from Google search that I dont find on the others- Yes please go indebt? Also get the time and date, if the articles are sorted by date. I'm the first on line to call out a company, but the data cant be disputed. Thanks for the article.

I agree with the bias against Tesla by MSNBC, but google as a search engine is pretty intuitive. MSNBC is synonymous with negativity towards Tesla, so someone searching “MSNBC Tesla” would likely be looking for one of those negative articles, hence, a Google search would start with those. Makes sense to me, and it’s one of the reasons why google is miles better than those other search engines you looked into.

Google might be afraid TSLA gets to autonomy first. They've been slacking for years with Waymo.

I did my own Google search on Tesla and I honestly don't see the manipulation and negative bias that so many are pounding the table about. To each is own though and unimportant big picture IMO. If the company does well, so will the stock once it grows into its already lofty valuation. Time will tell…

Based on the number of views and subscriptions, I doubt this video will get banned. However, as usual, very informative video. Keep up the good work!! If I may (positive criticism) you are a bit monotone. Great information and I watch all your videos, but it does put me to sleep sometimes bud. I'd like to see your channel grow. Add some emotion to your speaking. Thank you again for another good vid.

Makes sense. Big oil companies will also benefit from Tesla’s demise. Great video, thanks!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave2001 says:

I think YouTube is doing this as well when I search form model 3 I get ten videos of why I hate my car or what wrong with my Tesla. With upload first search I still will find videos that are positive that should have shown up in my search but didn’t and had to see the pop up when watching an other video

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jdudleyh says:

Or it is just Google trying to provide what people want to see or have searched for or linked to the most (or however their algorithm works). There has been a lot of talk about how biased CNBC is against Tesla, so that could cause a lot of people to go out and search for "CNBC against Tesla" or some negatively slanted search terms — either to confirm or prove otherwise – just like you did. These searches could then influence Google to return the negative articles first to match the trends.
I'm a Tesla bull and I'm sure there is a lot of conspiracy stuff going on to smear Tesla's name. I highly doubt that Google is changing the search results against Tesla though. Comparing to other search engines just means that each search engine uses different algorithms for finding sites and filtering/sorting them.
