This is the problem. There is two forms of inflation. The first is supply side inflation. This is the inflation that is felt by the global shutdown of supply chains and the ripple effects of the Sanctions that have pervaded since the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The second is demand side inflation. The Fed can only control the demand side of the equation. In doing so they risk destroying the value of all the assets in the economy. Stocks, Real estate, and everything else. As supply side inflation continues to rise. Demand side inflation has to decrease just to remain neutral.
