Honestly, unless they are issuing new shares you're not giving them money by buying shares. When a company goes public or issues shares that's the only capital they receive from the shares. Us buying and selling shares doesn't add money to their coffers. If we are investing it's on the fundamentals of the business and our faith in the management and use of cashflow. Remember, "Cashflow is King!" If we are selling our investment then it's due to our loss of faith, the fundamentals or miss use of cashflow.
Companies raise capital via issuance of stock, bonds, debt, etc… Not via us trading stocks.
