Hey everybody welcome back to my channel. Today we are going to talk about the new credit card. That's coming out tomorrow. It is called the city rewards, plus a credit card, so new on the market want to get your opinion on it.

I know you want to hear my opinion. Alright, I think it's a card, it's worth it do. I think it's a card to becoming a pass on, or maybe if this is maybe like a beginner car at a tribal card or anything else in between. So, let's get right into the video: let's talk about it! Alright! So again, this card comes out January 10th, which is in about two days.

This card does not have an annual fee throughout any year, so it is a free card. If you want to say, as far as the annual fee, there is a 0 % APR on purchases and balance transfers when it comes to the purchases it is from the day you get the card, violence transfers. It starts the day you make that transfer over from that other banking institution. So that's pretty cool and we get to consolidate some debt if you have some debt on other credit cards, which is always good to do no interest or where they catch up on the desk that you have so make sure you're paying more then the minimum.

So you can actually catch up within that year or your debts now this card does give you two points in their ports of call. Thank you points, so thank you points per dollar. This is only on gas stations and supermarkets, though up to 6,000 in those categories. After that, in those categories, you'll get 1 point per dollar every other purchase for us of what it is.

Travel, relator or anything is a 1 point per dollar. This car kinda gives you the basic, no annual fee. What I like to say, perks, car rental insurance, 90 day, return protection trip, cancellation protection excited around one thing that I do think is really cool about this card, though it reminds me of, I believe it's the American Airlines card when it comes to like the what Is it caught the when you get a trip for the lowest? My words also the reduced mileage? Aware, I'm sorry about that. I had a little brain for ourselves, the reduced mileage of words.

You get to redeem certain amount back so this card. Actually, you get the redeem 10 % of the points back up to a hundred thousand points per year. So if you got a hundred thousand points that you've accrued, ten percent of that would be ten thousand points. So that would be pretty cool that you get to redeem, that back.

It does have a sauna bonus if you spend a thousand dollars, which is very easy within the first three months they give you about, they give you fifteen thousand. Thank You points which I'm nerd wallet was kind of rating it at a zero, still three cents per point. I'm gon na maybe say two cents per point, which is kind of like around three hundred to maybe four hundred dollars. So that's not a bad sound.

I bonus for a card. I has no annual fee, but there are other cards in the market that you can kind of. Compare it to i'm select a Citi double cash card. Do you know that card? You get one percent when you swipe and then the other percent when you pay in full or like over time, and it has no cap on the amount so and that's when every purchase.
Okay, so one percent, when you swipe one percent, when you pay, so you have no cap, it's pretty, in my opinion, that's better and then the Amex blue cash everyday card, three percent supermarkets and two percent at the gas stations - and this is up to six thousand Dollars a year but again with the supermarket they're, getting a three points per dollar instead of just the two, so you know, then it also depends on unity like a mega. Do you, like you, know the visa? So it really depends on your preference as well. So that's the grab, that's a credit card, I'm honestly! In a nutshell, I think this card is more so for people who are doing like their everyday purchases, not travel or anything like that, because there are so many other cars. I give you so much more perks and bang for your buck, but let me know this is the car that you're going to be getting.

Let me know this: is a card you're going to apply for me personally, I'm going to pass on this card just not enough for me, even with the sound of Hornets, to kind of look at it at this point in time I have a lock a couple. Other cars, like my favorite, no annual fee card, if you guys know me, is the Chase Freedom Card with the rotating categories. I just love the idea of it. I love the cards, so that's me.

That's where I like to chase freedom: Carbon, not to chase freedom. Unlimited just strictly to chase freedom card. Thank you so much for watching this video comment. Let me know if you're gon na get this card or not subscribe.

Also, it is January guys so remember if you are a next card holders. It's Christmas. Jan, is Christmas. After Christmas to make sure you are renewing all your credits, airline credits, sex with Avenue credits, uber credits, dine and credits, whatever cards you have worth, this is platinum or gold card make sure you are doing those.

I do have a bunch of links in the description. If you were looking to apply for some of the cards, how about the channel also on Amazon as well? Thank you so much for tuning in have a good day.

I recently picked up the citi simplicity to catch up on some bills and what not. I hope they keep the point rounding bonus on this new rewards card because I would like to product change to that card and give it a try. I heard some other people mention how the point rounding system could potentially be abused by self checkouts at grocery stores or even manufactured spending. It will be interesting to see how citi counters that issue if it does become prevalent.

Ehh…very lukewarm on this card. Not saying it doesn’t have its place…but it probably won’t find a spot in my wallet. One of the biggest benefits is the “point rounding”. Citi is rounding points earned on each purchase with this card up to the the next increment of 10. So a $2 coffee still earns you 10x Thank You points. That’s where this card can shine! Say you use a vending machine at work twice a day for a $1 bag of chips. That’s 100 points a week for a $10 spend. Very impressive. Way less impressive when you make a $101 dollar purchase at the grocery store though. Citi does have great purchase protections, and the point kickback you mentioned is nice as well, but the rounding up on small charges is the biggest value I see with this card. The reason I’m so underwhelmed by the card though is the (lack of) value of points when using them for cash back or statement credit (half a cent each I believe). Even so, a dollar purchase that gets you 10 points is still 5% cash back. But a two dollar purchase is 2.5% cash back. It’s just too tight of a usage case for me. Right now I’m a bit more interested in Bank of America’s new offering (later this month) that will let me pick a 3% category and change monthly if I want to. 3.3% value if you redeem into a BoA account (or so I hear).
