Today we'll be selling my Apple stock $AAPL to buy Aurora Cannabis stock $ACB on Wealthsimple Trade with $0 Commission cost. I'll show you guys the buy and sell orders STEP BY STEP.
Wealthsimple Trade is an app that offers stock traders in Canada FREE trades. Basically it's the Robinhood trading app for us Canadians. Using this app could save you hundreds if not thousands of broker commissions. In my last video I bough two shares of $AAPL, and then one share of $MSFT with my $1000 test account. Today in this video you will see me sell all those shares to buy $ACB.
Another thing that was not mentioned in my last video was the currency exchange conversion fees. Wealthsimple Trade charges a 1.5% FX conversion fee, which is pretty standard among stock brokerages (usually 1.5%-2%). But user should be made aware of that when trading here if they are expecting a completely FREE app.
I would suggest users on this app to stick to buying Canadian listed stocks on the Toronto Stock Exchange. If you want to buy US listed stocks, I'd suggest another Canadian broker, Questrade instead. I will do a video tutorial soon on the CHEAPEST way to exchange your CAD into USD with Questrade. Also, Questrade allows you to hold registered accounts like TFSA or RRSP in either Canadian or US dollars⬇️.

I have this question for a long time, also happening on my app now. At the beginning of the video, the app tells you that you have a total of $1021, but how come you only have $1003 available after selling the old shares??? What's the algorithm here?

Its best to use interactive brokers at $1 a trade. 1.5% is $15 each $1000 worth of stocks bought. also canadian stocks sucks i rather trade FAANG stocks.
When she sell the Microsoft stock the price was $109.66 but by the time the order executed it become $109.52, so there was a loss of 14 cents?? 🤔🤔🤔
on March 8, 2019 ACB was actually CAD$118, not sure how you've been able to buy it a 10

How to buy stocks in the app ?
Hi Humble Trader Oh that name Aurora Cannabis sunk my ship last Jan 2018 just as the market tanked.. One day just before that happened i was looking at a double price profit… DID I SELL.. NO Greed got to me.. Left Brain screaming HOLD HOLD HOLD… Right side Brain screaming SELL SELL SELL ACB was trading so well that last week of December and i never got out. Happy New Year came and BOOM the bubble burst the first trading day of January 2019. Oh i was 50% margin borrowed on the stock and that killed me as the stock plunged with my broker giving me margin calls to cover the losses to keep the shares i borrowed. Lesson Learned.. FORGET BORROWING THE BROKER MONEY … TO RISKY. Aurora was also a 18th century schooner ship that on the maiden voyage sailed to get a load of cotton.. on the return trip the good ship had combustion fire start and the ships crew jumped over board as the ship burned and sank.. Sounds like my story trading Aurora Maybe the name doomed me from the start once i found out about that true ship story. Good Grief .. well it only money right.. onward and upwards to better trading WITHOUT MARGIN CALLS.. LOL To your account health Humbled Trader 🙂 Cheers

You will see you lost a lot of money when you sell US stock because they only keep only theCandianollar which means they change CAD$ automatically.
