The way economists evaluate the state of the business cycle and then they end by saying even if we get a negative read on gdp don't worry it doesn't necessarily mean that we're in a recession. This is such political cover your butt right before midterms talk. This is ridiculous. Because the reality is nobody wants to wait the 4 to 14 months for the national bureau of economic researchers to come out and say okay yes.
We officially had a recession. Nobody wants to look into the past. We want to look forward if on july 28. It is what it is we get a negative gdp print.
We are technically in a recession and the white house is already prepping us which kind of makes me think that print's coming in negative. Because maybe they already know.
Kevin that is true. 2 consecutive Quarters of GDP is no longer officially used to declare a recession. Although, it is a good indicator.
