What's up everybody, so welcome back to the channel, make sure if you are new, you give me a subscribe and smash the like button. If you find this video helpful, this channel is all about building rebuilding, maintaining credit travel blogs, all that cool stuff. So again, if you find out interested in, you want to know things about credit travel watch me travel, make sure you subscribe today's video the best secured credit card of 2019. In my opinion, there are a bunch of secured credit cards out here.

I've done some research for you guys to really kind of dig down some odd number one. I'm not gon na give you a 5. I'm not gon na give you 3 I'm gon na. Give you a my opinion, the best one and I'm sure this is a lot of people's opinions, make sure you are throwing down your comments in the comment section.

Your experiences, maybe you're, maybe pick up, secured credit card or if you agree with me or not so my pick is going to be the discover it secured card to me hands down. This is the best card, a little bit about me and my history. When I was 18 or 19, I went to a phone carrier tried to get a phone line. Thinking this and I paid my bills on time phone bills with prepaid carriers.

I had a little insurance with my car. I paid that on time. You know things of that nature. I pay my PlayStation Network bill on time whenever it was due, like small things like that, and I thought that was good and people were noticing that, and that was a plus the downfall to that is.

It wasn't been reported to credit bureaus and I didn't have that now. Doesn't it not every credit card I applied to unsecured credit card. Unsecured credit card is a credit card that, if you don't know you don't have to have any collateral, which means you don't have to have any money to get the credit card. As far as I give you money, you give me the credit, it's just simply.

I apply for this credit card and you give me this credit card based off of my credit history, so I couldn't get a phone line. I probably couldn't get a car on my name. Couldn't get a mortgage. Obviously, couldn't do a lot and, if I wasn't able to get car insurance probably was significantly higher than other people.

There's a lot of downfalls and not having credit or to have bad credit. Now the best part about this car with the discovery card, it is good for building credit which, if you're somebody like me in my situation back then or if you're somebody who's rebuilding credit. So if you are somebody who has made mistakes, we are all human. It's not your fault, life happens, it hits us, don't blame yourself, don't take blame, don't be down, find a solution to fix it, whether you don't have credit, I've never had credit or you did have credit and you messed it up.

No more complaining, no more being down yourself, no more being hard on yourself. Let's take this opportunity that discovery is gon na give to you and rebuild or build so again. This card is good for anybody. Who's never had credit like myself when I was growing up about not let me about four years ago, four, five years ago, at this point, almost 25 at this point or if you're someone who is rebuilding this car is good for the both both types of people.
That's typically what it is, don't have credit, reboot and credit boom, discover it secured credit gotcha. Let's go over to benefits real quick, so a lot of secured credit cards want to take advantage of you as a consumer, because you don't have credit history or you have bad credit history. They want to get an annual fee. The discover it card does not come with an annual fee, which is awesome off the back.

There are a lot of banks. I want to charge of annual fees for the same version of the car, but it's just the secured credit card version. They want to charge. You a fee because you're a riskier, a more risky clientele, no annual, feel off the river discovered they're, still going to get 2 % cash back up to $ 1,000 on gas stations and restaurants up to $ 1,000 per quarter.

Okay, so that's really good! So there are four quarters: in a year each quarter you're going to get 2 % cashback on both gas stations and dining restaurants, our restaurant, so that is combined okay. So if we spend five hundred and five hundred or you spend nine hundred and 100 - that's gon na be your thousand, you also can get one percent cash back on all of the purchases. There is no cap on that as it is unlimited one percent cashback, so they're pretty much going to also give to you what they do for their unsecured version in this card. They're gon na match you a hundred percent.

So if you earned a hundred thousand points, that's just saying your secured credit card they're going to match you that they're going to give you a hundred thousand at the end of your first year. It's only for the first row. So that's really awesome! You also get, you know, discovers protection, you get from monitoring, you get FICO score, you get credit education. There are a lot of benefits that come with this card and the easiest part is you can do this online? There are some banks that make you do this process in the bank, because it is secure card discovery, they don't have banks and East Coast.

As far as I'm concerned, I've never seen a Discover Bank, so they make it really nice and convenient really advanced the technology. You can do all this at your home. The requirements already be: eighteen, have some type of government ID have to be a United States citizen we're talking about the US version of this car and you have to have a bank account number. So you have to have a bank number and you got their your account number and routing number make sure you have these things before you are ready to apply and the most important thing again.

At the end of the day, this is a business and you are coming to them, for some type of you know rebuild on credit or build, so you have to have that collateral collateral is not hey. I'm gon na give you my iPhone that just got to came out and you don't give me a credit card. They want the biggest thing than what the money, so the minimum deposit they want is two hundred. I do not know the maximum, but if you are just starting off or you are rebuilding, there's nothing wrong with giving between 200 to 500 bucks.
When I did my with Wells Fargo, I didn't know about discoveries, but when I did my loss Fargo, I gave them out three hundred dollars so discover when he wants two hundred. If you give them two hundred dollars, they are now going to give to you a credit honor to hundred dollars. Now, again you do the application online. There is still obviously a chance.

You can be declined after they do. The credit pools is a hard inquiry. So there's always a chance that you can be declined, but it is a lot less likely for you to be declined because you are giving them the money upfront. So if you default or - and you just don't - pay your bill, they just take your money.

There's no risk to them really at that point, that's pretty much the gift of it. Now you do graduate and what that means is they will give you your money back. So if you give them $ 1,000, you have a credit card for $ 1,000. You pay on that thing monthly, like a normal credit card.

It looks like a normal credit card and, after I would say, maybe about a year year and a half really I'm gon na offer you they're gon na hit you up and say: hey customer you've been really great. Let me give you your thousand dollars back and what I'll do for you? You can keep your credit line for $ 1,000. I'm gon na give you $ 1,000 back because now I trust you and I keep in mind when you are making your payments. I suggest you pay it in full, each and every month, when you are door, secured credit cards, we're not in it for the points really we're not in it, for the perks, we're in it for the building, whether that is rebuilding or building.

That's the only reason why we're doing it. So, let's not worry about points. That's not worry about how many clothes we can get and if we're going to worry about points, take advantage because again, discovery is going to be matching it. So again, if you're going to go ahead and spend you know 500 bucks or $ 1,000 a month, paying them fool before the statement closing date.

So when your credit, so when your statement is reported to the credit bureau, they see that you are aired out. Zero balance or very little balance staying in between 10 to 20 percent utilization is awesome. My personal recommendation when you're having secured credit cards you're as close to zero as possible. If that's one percent two percent, the closer to zero, the better, in my opinion, so make sure you are as close to zero as possible, making these payments every month and that's it.
This Discover card is really good guys. If I had an opportunity to get this card, I definitely would discover is a great Bank within itself. So let me know what you guys think about it again. The discover it card out the link in the description, if you guys want to get into it.

Definitely let me know your story, share your story or you're going to apply. What do you think is the best to secure credit card? I'm really going to challenge you guys with people who want to challenge me. There's not really many to secure credit cards. They're gon na give to you with discovers, given to you with no annual fee.

The cashback match 100 % the first year, giving you your money back. There are some secured credit cards now where you would give them the security deposit, and you the only way you can get your security deposit back is, if you close your account, which hurts your credit score tremendously, especially ignorance on two billion. It's your first card we're trying to rebuild it, and this is your first card and you're trying to rebuild. So this is the car for you guys in my opinion, again got ta be 18.

You have to be a US. Citizen have to have a bank number. That's pretty much it and then you got to have $ 200 or more to get started. But if you find this video helpful make sure you subscribe, I will be doing a lot more videos in the very near future.

You have yourself a going. I see you in another video.

My Top 10 Secured Card List is:

    1) NFCU
    2) Discover
    3) SDFCU
    4) Harley Davidson VISA (US Bank)
    5) TD Bank
    6) BB&T
    7) Citi
    8) BoA
    9) US Bank
    10) Bremer Bank

My honorable mentions (not really, but just the ones you hear about and my reasons they’re not in the top 10) are:

    1) C1S – partial secured and NAF is attractive, but doesn’t graduate anymore. (Hint: Wait a bit and get the C1P as your first unsecured card).
    2) OpenSky – NO INQUIRY, thus the perfect card for someone below 520. Decent APR, and will approve you as long as you are 18, a U.S. citizen and make $1,000 per month. No PC or graduation.
    3) Merrick – Same as OpenSky in regards to APR, but more sophisticated in it permits e-bill pay and micropayments, much better customer service, access to your FICO 8 TU score and also offers an unsecured card.

Some of these cards are less known and may not be available in every market, but I get sick and tired of people talking about how great certain secured cards are when they’re just not.

Here’s why these cards made the top 10:
    1) Up to three of them do soft graduations in less than 12 months.
    2) Roughly half of them have some level of rewards via points or cash back.
    3) Over half currently have no annual fee.
    4) Most do soft graduations (versus a hard graduation which requires another inquiry and has to be initiated by the member).
    5) Regardless of the graduations, they ALL graduate the same account (thus you retain your AAoA).
    6) ALL have some level of PC option once unsecured.
    7) None of them are true “scaffolding cards.” (Cards that never graduate, which means you have to close them to get your deposit back.)

Don’t ask me why, but I love to study secured cards. It’s my thing. And, for what it’s worth, I either have or have had at least 6 of the 13 I mentioned (past and present).

I got a Capital One Secured card had to put down $49 for $200 CL. Also, a BofA secured card put down $99 for $500 CL and Discover IT secured card i put $200 for $200 CL. So far so good, I'm going in to my 4th month with all three still waiting my FICO score no score as of yet. I have to wait 6 months for FICO score to be calculated . Captial One should be giving me a credit line in increase after 5 months of online good payments. Discover after 8 months should be upgrading me to unsecured card. We will see. I got approved for Discover IT secured and Capital One Secured the same day.
