Today the trading of APE was suspended on the German exchange for 'clearing' reasons. Clearly these brokers are really struggling to locate shares of APE both to buy and short, so all trading was suspended.
On top of this, a new hedge fund has just bought over 20m shares of APE, while there are millions of FTDs and and while brokers haven't even delivered millions of shares.
It's confusing how this hedge fund has managed to acquire over 20m shares in a stock so illiquid, where everyone is scrambling for more shares. This fund has also been in trouble before for creating synthetic shares and purchasing shares of a subsequent company issue.
