The AMC APE Dividend will cause a share recall.
The brokers that have leant out shares to shorts, will need to recall these shares (forcing the short to close their position), so the broker holds the real un-leant AMC shares and can receive the AMC dividend.
Some brokers, like cash app, dont hold real AMC shares or haven't yet recalled them, and therefore may take up to 7 days to deliver your APE dividend as they will have to buy APE shares in the open market to provide to their customers.
This is why you should not sell your APE as it helps the brokers and trading platforms buy ape to give to their customers, instead of reporting an FTD/recalling the shorts.

Didn't AA specifically state there were going to be like 5 billion APEs released? This would be very eye opening when they get the actual number of APEs released which obviously doesn't match the 516 million shares that are the official AMC shares. Brokers shouldn't be able to issue a cash equivalent because it's not a cash dividend. Even Robin Hood retracted the whole we aren't going to issue this preferred stock to…we are going to only allow sell only for the APE. Just what I've heard. Obviously we have a lot of questions that need to be confirmed and more DD needs to be done.
