What's up everybody welcome back to the channel. Today's video is gon na be about the American Express gold card, and is it worth keeping after you get it for the first year or the year after that year of that, there's new revamp. This event has been out for almost two years now about a year and almost some changed it to be two years in October, and I wanted to give you guys my room from actually having the gold card and see what it's all about. Let's get right into the video, alright, so a quick rundown for people who don't know what the American Express gold card is annual fee is two hundred and fifty dollars.

The benefits you get are all membership reward points, so you gon na get for membership. Reward points on restaurants worldwide. As long as this colored a restaurant, it is a restaurant, so example of it's in a casino. It may not be coded as a restaurant has to be brick-and-mortar more than likely a restaurant you're gon na get four eggs back.

Membership Rewards back one US supermarkets up to twenty five thousand dollars per year, which is a lot of points. Twenty five thousand times. Four is a hundred thousand points. So if somebody lives in a big family you're spending that money you're definitely getting one hundred thousand points.

Each year, just off of that, okay - and you also get three points - three membership work points per dollar with MX travel with not climb. Mx, travicom or flight spoke directly with the airline you're. Also gon na get a hundred dollar airline credit. You can use that for check bags, maybe food on board things of that nature, and then you also getting one hundred and twenty dollar down and credit.

That's broken into twelve months, so it's ten dollars a month. You can use it for Shake Shack, GrubHub, seamless, etc. Alright, so that's pretty much what the benefits are not including all the other benefits, a tip. The typical like higher tier branded AMEX card to come with, especially you know, cars like this card in the Platinum Card.

Now here's my thing this card to me is definitely worth it. If you are somebody who is a foodie, I've said that before so, I know who definitely eats out a lot. Somebody who you know does all that stuff and who maybe someone lives, a big family. If you can maximize that twenty five points, so our $ 25,000 cap on a form MX for MRP back per dollar you're - definitely going to benefit.

So if you're, somebody who has a big family definitely make sure you get the gold card again. The annual fee is 250, but if you the 120 and the 100 120 being in the food credit every year, every year, the 100 being the airline credit that brings your annual feed down to only $ 30. That's really coming out of your pocket and I'm sure you can find a lot of other benefits that we just discussed for 30 bucks aka. You can maximize $ 25,000 and give four back on that.

That's 100,000 points. That's definitely worth spending $ 30 for so just kind of think about it like that now me personally, I did downgrade from this card. Actually, no, I'm sorry didn't downgrade. I closed it and the reason I and you know again what always trying to find a downgrade option, but I figured me personally, I was gon na take the hit because I figured look.
The Platinum cover just revamped. The gold car was just revamped, I'm pretty sure they're green cards gon na get remand, and if I get this product now, this green car, which I've never had before I'm going to shoot myself in the foot. I'm not gon na be able to get the sign on bonus when it gets revamp and little do we know well more than you know what I knew. The gold card got, revamped platinum card got revamped and then the green card finally got revamped.

So I did closeout and there here's why I'm more of a traveler and from me loving the platinum. Quite as you guys know, I want to do anything that can really maximize American Express and travel. I love. Amex is probably my favorite brand, especially when it comes to travel, but we all know if you're not buying flights with Amex travicom or you're, not booking flights directly with the websites you're not going to get that many points back from the AMEX Platinum Card.

Well, that's where the MX green card really fills in those gaps and that's what they do to kind of get you know, honestly, I think maybe it's got. I get some more revenue, but it's all good. So the annual fee for the green card is only 150, but you can have a haunted out like clear credit, which saves me so much time at airport, especially with TSA PreCheck. Being such a popular thing now clear is that next best option and it's more to likely always are open.

You also get a one hundred dollar lounge buddy credit. So if we don't have the max Platinum Card, you can use that 100 islands buddy credit you and maybe your friend and your spouse or whatever and go to the lounges, go to the ledges. An airport go enjoy yourself, all that good stuff, not to mention three eggs back on traveller, including transit. Now here's a cool part about it.

You know sometimes I like to be bougie. Sometimes I like to be cheap. Sometimes I like to be smart, so whatever I want to be boozy but smart at the same time. Well, that's where Priceline and booking comedy falls into play as opposed to booking hotels and things like that through the websites through actually the websites.

We all know that if you booked through the third party, like Priceline or book ENCOM, you're more than likely going to find a discount - and my one of my favorites is expressed those from Priceline calm. Probably one of my favorite hacks a lot of time because it really knocks down the the price was so many things, but I felt so bad or using Amex when I was using parceling, because I wasn't getting anything back now. You're gon na get three extra membership world points towards any third-party hotel service. Taxis, limos live uber all that good stuff, even when you buy flights through MX travicom or directly with the airline you're gon na get at least 3 MX back on that it is a really big push from one.
Mr mr peter 3 trust me and obviously the more you spend the more you'll see the difference. But again i buy food, but i don't have a big family, so the gold card $ 25,000 cap. It's not gon na work. For me, I'm more of a traveler than I am a foodie yeah.

I care about the food I eat, but not to the extent of how much I love on travel. That's just me right now. That's just my lifestyle right now is what it is. So that's why I downgraded the gold card again, if you are a traveler, moreso green card, Moore or platinum card, and if you are a foodie I would say have one of the other cards too, but definitely have the gold card.

It should definitely be in your pocket guru, team, Amex fanner, just a Amex fan in general, if you guys did one dude want to apply for any of the cards, make sure you do so with the link in the description of this video, your get an increase. Signup bonus and it also helps up the channel as well. So definitely do that. We would greatly appreciate it here if you guys, like this video and give me a thumbs, make sure you subscribe and also share this video.

If you found it helpful I'll, see you in another video take care.

I was on the fence on upgrading my gold card to a platinum and applying for a green card.

Recently we went out for a friends bday to a prestige restaurant and I covered the bill on my gold card. That alone netted me 2500 points , so this card is staying put!

To date I’ve made 25k MR points from this card and received the 50k sign up with only 2k spend. Keeper!

Side bar: I use all the perks such as dinning credit and airline incidental and the wife is an AU so we split the MF.

Walter do you offer AU services?

    Is Amex inquiry sensitive?

…Or one would could try the Citi Prestige for the 5x on dining and airfare book directly or with OTAs. Also get that nice 3x in hotels, 4th night free (twice a year), and a REAL $250 travel credit.

All is that packaged nicely into one card for the low-low of $495 which I’m thinking is less than the Amex Platinum. Hahahahaha. You know I had to go there Walt.

Solid video brutha. Can’t wait until the next one. And oh, do you do live streams anymore?

The GOLD is absolutely a keeper card for me! It easily earns me 100K a year in groceries and restaurants.

To be honest I only use my gold card, 💳for the $10 dining credit am cheap. 😂😂At shake shack etc that’s my flex card.🤣😂 They did offer me 18 month’s zero interest. With this pay overtime option, they have now but I don’t use it.🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Paul Maul says:

Do you have a Amex Bifecta or Trifecta in order to get more Amex Award Points? If yes, what is it now that you downgraded to the Amex Green Card??

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Debt To Dollars says:

Smart move on downgrading the Gold since it didn’t fit your everyday spending and info on the Green card. Thanks!
