While there are a ton of free tools you can utilize, it’s good to start with investing in yourself and your potential trading career.

Before you trade, you should always have a trading plan! Break down the idea … Why do you care about the stock, what’s your entry, goal, and exit? If you don’t have these components, you’re gambling.
Use a trading journal and write everything down. Keep track of your entries, exits, thoughts, and feelings. Master your psychology. Because every trading day, it’s you against the person in the mirror. Journaling can help you identify and improve your weaknesses.
Next, learn how to use scanners to find opportunities. You can scan by technicals, fundamentals, sector, float, earnings per share, and more. The criteria all depends on your trading plan and strategy. And you can keep it as simple or sophisticated as you want.
Don’t forget to keep an eye on the time of day. Tune into the video to learn more about the importance of being a time-biased trader.
Last, and most importantly, utilize the internet! All the information you could possibly need is right at your fingertips. Watch video lessons, look at stock charts, and find yourself a mentor.

I'm ready to join. You are awesome and genuine person.
I have been trading for about 6 months now and just about every trade backfires and slaps me in my face. Nearly impossible for me to catch more than a few points . I try to do top down analysis but it doesn't work for me . I say to myself, clearly I'm in the 90% that lose money, so I open a demo account, do my analysis, then take the opposite of what I would normally take and get the same result. I'm starting to feel hopeless, any advice for a struggling trader?

Tim, you are a fantastic, wonderful, sincere, and selfless person. I love the way you've been doing the morning show; instead of adhering to the more mechanical approach–the conveyor belt full of tickers we toss your way–you've added variety buy zooming in on one or two of the tickers. The older approach was fine; it just became rote. You seem a lot more excited when you switch things up some. I think the zoom-in is a learning experience for so many of us, and you love to teach. I really appreciate all that you do. Like the person who commented before me, I will need to defer joining steady trade at the moment. My employer is doing another round of cuts; I didn't get chopped the last time, which means greater probability this time. (I an employee at a university; I teach English and creative writing, and I do not have tenure. I also work full time for the same university in academic affairs). Anyway, if I survive this next round of staff cuts, I am absolutely joining your community. Heck, prior to this university job, I was a full time editor at a journal, and also had a (WAY better paying) job writing fundraising content. When one door closes, another opens… I might be able to anchor myself in similar, outside-of-academia work again. Regardless, I'm not on your team, but, after a year of following about 20 different YouTube stock dudes, I've filtered them out and remain a loyal student of you and your associates.
