The first and best thing to do when looking for undervalued stocks is to look for sympathy plays.
Tune in for a great chart example on Nio Inc. (NYSE: NIO). Earlier in 2020, this stock made a similar move to Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA).
But there’s a key difference between the two ... NIO started at $2 to $3 dollars per share. If you can catch this kind of move, there’s the potential for strong gains in small time frames. This can help you grow your account.
Catch Bohen as he explains how an entire sector can move with what we call the market leader. If you’re running your scans and showing up every day, that hot sector should already be on your radar.
Now you want to look for sympathy plays in that same sector — and, sometimes, the sketchier the better!
Sounds counterintuitive right? But here’s the beauty of that ... The sketchier they are, the more likely they’ll bring in short sellers who short on the front side of the move. Like gasoline to a fire, they become the accelerant. That’s when we get those awesome parabolic moves.
And don’t forget volume! Run your volume scans … You want to hone in on uptrending liquid stocks. Look for liquid stocks breaking out on multi-week or multi-month time frames.
That's how you find undervalued stocks with the potential to make moves like NIO. And these stocks can consolidate and breakout over and over again.
