STOP. Doing science degrees do not guarantee science careers, unless you want to be a school teacher. Research careers are exceptionally hard to get and succeed in.

I'm in community college now and I was thinking of doing University my dad and grandmother aren't sure about it and when I wanted to do the military my mother said shouldn't do it. Think I like to do both and watching this video does remind me that you don't need to docollege in order to feel successful. I haven't lived on my own or anything or had job yet and I'm 20 thought university could help with being more independent. That is very true with social life like people in college really talk about that for university and can get that anywhere. I'm into art but haven't used any actual money just done the fasfa for community college but thought could do 4 year school but idk I don't want to do university for art if it's not worth it when can get those skills ln my own doing other stuff.

My regret is in what I studied. I studies business management undergrad and post graduate. I now have a job that does not require a degree. In that sense it was a waste I wish I had done something scientific instead. The decision to go to university was almost unconscious because growing up it was presented like a definite root for success (naive I know). I should have put a lot more thought into what I was going to university to do and why I want to go to university. This would have helped me to make a better decision in choosing what to study so that I have a definite purpose to make real money from what I studied. I have since re-evaluated myself and my mindset is a lot different. Going down the accounting/finance route now so that I can complement the BM degree. You points are very valid I love this video.

Hey man! I'm 14 and I'm thinking of not going to Uni and this is because I really want to be a property investor as I have been consuming so much content, rules, and regulations and trying to find deals even though I can't buy any of them. but I do understand that to get some mortgages I do need a job or some sort of income coming in so I am thinking of working at an estate agent for free (or maybe a little bit of money) during my gap year and studying to become a mortgage advisor as those jobs don't need a degree from you. they want sales experience and a CEMAP qualification and then I will achieve this during my gap year. then save a bunch of money and then start to adventure on my property investor carrier. do you have any advice for me on if this is the correct way to go about it or do you advise me on something else?

Great video. I went to uni, to study housing management. Was over 10 years ago and have never looked for a job in that field. Don’t get me wrong I learnt a good bit about property, but got no hands on experience. I regret ever going, if I’m honest. Few friends went and learned trades which I regret not doing. If I was to go back I would probably have learned to be a plumber or and electrician as these are great trades to know.

I am 30 years old and struggling to get a good paying job(£28k+). I have now decided to go to uni and obtain a law degree in 2 years for a chance of becoming a solicitor specializing in land and property law.

Am I commiting to something wrong? Please help.

I for sure regret going to university. I studied marketing and management and it has put me in the direction of a career path in merchandising. But I think I would be further along now if I had gone down the practical route and I would have a bit of money rather than debt. Also student life (for me) was very overrated. I drank a lot and did drugs in my earlier teen years in school so I was over it by 18. + when I went to uni it was a lot of private school kids who were going off the rails now they had freedom and it was just a bit cringe lol. It wasn’t a terrible choice that put me significantly behind but it certainly wasn’t the optimal decision. You live and you learn though !
