Shorting penny stocks overnight it's OK.
Trade not more than 10% of your capital.
If you buy a penny stock at $0.16 per share and put in $1000 that's 6,250 shares if the price bumps to $2 per share you make over $12,000. Saying a penny stock is a useless company is wrong. Ford went to $1.01 at one point. Tops used to trade at $350,000,000 per share its $1.32 now. Prices change.
Take his advice with a grain of salt. Nothing is black and white. He is not saying that you can't make a profit from holding a penny stock overnight, he is saying that it is generally best practice NOT to due to its volatility. There will always be examples to the contrary and nothing is black and white. It's up to you to do your DD.
I’m getting killed on NVCN!!
I've actually completely shifted my strategy over to overnight holds only. High volume high gainers going into close with momentum, I buy 10-15 minutes before close. Sometimes they gap up overnight, sometimes they don't, but rarely gap down. They seem to always have a very quick spike right at market open due to high buying volume from people putting in orders after hours, hoping for a second day run from the previous day's high gain. The spike is very quick, I usually sell within the first minute or 2 of market open. Sometimes the spike is 1%, sometimes it's 10%, but I rarely end up taking a loss. The advantage here is for somebody like me who has a small account (less than $25,000) and can't make multiple trades, I'm able to make a trade every day without worrying about the PDT rule. Also, I work full time during trading hours and can't look at charts or keep up on news throughout the day. I also quickly research the company and avoid next day pre-market earnings, and avoid companies with pending news (FDA approval, reverse split, etc.) I've grown my account 135% in 3 months using this new strategy.
Wouldn't the threat be greatly diminished with a trailing stop loss set? Could somebody please answer this?
just lost $98 on a $1000 account by holding overnight. good thing I got out could have been way worse. never again! Glad I learned the lesson though it reinforces rules when you go through the mistakes. glad it was a small one.
wow, one of the best advice ever, I just started this penny stock trading, i fell in the overnight trading issues and loss 20%. It was a eye opener. I should took the 5% gain kept it moving
Please make more videos of your mistakes, so we can all learn from them.
So what, in your opinion, would you do if you buy a stock, that morning, and it doesn't move at all during the day, regardless of volume? Are you swing trading it, or just trying to get out at the end of the day?
1. Shorting over night on penny stocks is great.
2. Dont keep a stock over night if its only trading at a dollar??
I invested 1300$ on DCTH and held it over night… the value increased 35% LOL
You have to look the Yearly first before you decide to hold anything. The stock is choppy and it was very high.
Thank you for the advice Ricky!
Ik someone gonna say i should already know but whats the name of the intro song

What is considered overnight? The actual night or 4pm when the market closes? I'm a newb
