New to stock trading. I'm starting with minimal funds to get my feet wet so I can only really do 1 day trade every other day to stay under the PDT rule. I saw Tesla was way down this morning, likely due to the news about Trump, but I also felt confident it would gain after the Q3 report. Numbers were well below VWAP and RSI was starting to indicate an oversell; so I bought in around $420. Within a few minutes, I gained 1.55% so I closed my position, since my daily goal is 1.5-2%. After I closed, the price went past $434, and I missed out on doubling my gain. The question I have is this:
How do you more-experienced traders deal with FOMO. Is it as simple as "A gain is a gain"? I try to tell myself that if I stayed in, I may have gotten emotional and started chasing a high. Would it have been smarter to stay in until the price reached the upper band of the VWAP? I'm new and 37 (i.e. conservative) so go easy on me.

With the all eggs in one basket thing I always think about how much more money I could’ve made with that extra $300 I could’ve invested. I’m trying to go away from that and just focus on the percentage growth of my overall account. And it’s funny cuz I have $1028 as of right now in my account😂

Been doing precisely this and has been working really well for me. Reduce the position size, have a set stop in place, and base your success off of the quality of the trade not just how much you made.
