Why are markets so up? Even though inflation is at seven and a half percent? Why isn't the stock market crashing? Well because everybody knows the fed is full of and ain't gon na raise interest rates for a few more months. They just call their bluff.

Negative real rates for many years. Real rates is the framework that nobody talks about… but is all important.

i agree, raising rates is problematic due to dollar strength/trade deficit. Have you seen FX markets!! They will simply unwind QE faster and harder to try to kill inflation than mess with rates, OR, We may even see negative rates.

That could be the reason, but at the same time the market has already been correcting in anticipation of these issues. So the drops are not always as dramatic as you might expect (when they happen).

Even if they do I don't care. I'll just average down. Trying to time it is dumb. If you pull all your money out now in advance of rate hikes but they then get delayed your missing out on growth & dividends. If you keep it in you can average down when rate hikes happen and for sure catch the rally in the future.
