The chief executive of the online brokerage firm Robinhood, Vlad Tenev, faced anger from members of Congress from the opening moments of the House Financial Services Committee hearing on GameStop. He faced some hard questions and got a lot of heat for both his acts during the crisis as well as they way he was answering questions during the hearing.

AOC is not smart, she has zero idea what she's talking about, as usual. Who asks a business if they are willing to give up their entire revenue source? That's an idiotic question.

So this is Really interesting – trading 212 the Robinhood equivalent in the uk was founded in Bulgaria. Vlad is from Bulgaria. Trading 212 restricted buying of game stock and other similar stocks.

I’ve done a lot of deep-diving; looking into this, and I really think this might be Vlad getting thrown under the bus and the train.

I’d like to see what the DTCC is able to say about this since it looks like they ordered RH to deposit and clear almost 1/3 of the business’ entire worth. This would nearly bankrupt them.

Essentially it was a “Do this or Else” requirement. Nobody on the witness panel may have told him to do it but someone did.

RH caved, but I think they’re the scapegoat. That said, don’t choose RH as your broker. They can restrict your orders again.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sean McCann says:

You can see that Kenneth Griffin is looking over his camera the whole time. That's because he is being fed responses by his team, standing behind the camera. Something that wouldn't be allowed in an in-person deposition. These guys are crooks and everyone is starting to know it.

The conversation about order flow and ripping off RH users is something that RH should know, but it seems like a red herring to me.

If it’s FREE then you’re the product. But that’s all apps at this point… all of them… and AOC knows that…

We have a somewhat hard choice, trust the institutions that have failed us at every turn…

    Or trust the private sector…

IMHO I trust the private sector because they don’t pretend to act more in your interests than their own, and demonstrate competence the government does not.

It’s not ideal but that’s the rock and hard place.
