What do you think about discover it? Discover it vs chase freedom?
Great video! Question, So ive heard that if you have both the Amex platinum and the Amex gold you only get charged the annual fee for the platinum? Is this true? Or do you still have to pay both
Amex Gold and a 1.5x point card from a local bank that has 0 foreign transaction fee as a backup
Ounce the cards Expire will we still get Rose Gold?? Or since Its limited time are we going back to regular GOLD?

Currently I carry the Amex Platinum, Wells Fargo Amex Propel, and the Capital One Savor cards! Those 3 cover dining out and ordering in, grocery stores, gas, rideshares, flights, hotels, homestays, Ubers, transit, and streaming services. Unfortunately, none of them share the same rewards program. However, I plan on adding the Chase Marriott Premier Plus card to the mix soon to replace one of the current cards because being a Marriott Gold Elite member, I would value hotel points more than Wells Fargo's points system.
I ended up moving to a much smaller wallet early this year as well. I was concerned that I wouldn't have access to some of the things I normally carried (store loyalty cards and whatnot). What I found out was…I don't need them 99.9% of the time (mostly giving them my phone number works). For that 0.01% of the time that I do need it though, I bought a inexpensive credit card keeper and just store that kind of stuff in my vehicle now. No credit cards in it, just "stuff". But if I do need them, they are usually no further away than running out to my vehicle to get them. As far as credit cards go, I'm busy hitting the minimum spend on my Capital One Venture card right now. So that's the only card I'm carrying. Soon as I get there, I'll likely still carry it daily though. Anytime I purchase something, and don't have a card that covers it at more than 2%…I'll pull out the Venture card.
AMEX Gold for restuarant and supermarkets, Chase Freedom for 5x categories, US Bank Altitude Reserve for mobile wallet spending, SPG Luxury for everything else due to working towards hitting minimum spend.
ThankYou Premier for 60k TYP bonus and Chase Trifecta!
TWO SMALL WALLETS ACTUALLY 3, ONE FOR GIFT CARDS, ONE FOR AMEX/CITI AND ONE FOR CHASE
I'm using my Usbank Cash Plus Visa Signature 5% cellphone&fast food&2%gas, Also my Amex Delta Gold, to quickly meet min spend made a car payment&paid my car ins😉.
I like the bigger wallet better. but looking at your other wallet cash is king and cash is cool. sorry but Walmart and target are discount stores.
department stores would be like
Jc penny
Macy's
Lord and Taylor
Kohls
sacks 5th ave
Nordstorms
sears these are department stores.
so you have 2 travel cards with annual fees do you have any that have no fees? the chase freedom is a cash back card.
grocery stores I use cash, drug stores I use cash, post office I use cash, bagel boys I use cash, container store I use cash.
Bed bath and beyond I believe I used my capitol1 venture 1 card, eating out at Barbettas I used my Venture 1 card, Modells I used my Venture 1 card , J crew I used my Venture 1 card
At Kohls I use my basic blue cash card American Express, Ruby Tuesdays Basic Blue cash card and at shell , blue cash card.
The rest of November dining gift certificactes at least 2 more trips.
Texas Longhorn just redeemed my cash back with a gift card with my Discover
gas stations either my Citgo charge card or Exxon/Mobil charge card my oldest card 1994.
gift card purchases will go on my American Express
gift gifts will go on my Venture 1 card.
Now I have some questions for you I understand when you go to Chicfillet , Mcdonalds and burger king you don't leave a tip being there fast food restaurants but when you go to Cheese cake Factory , Ruby Tuesdays , Houlihans how do you know how much to leave a tip? with your better wallet you have places like the compartments a tip chart , your shoprite card, cvs, pictures . love your bigger wallet?
what percentage do you leave ? do you use the numbers on the receipt or how do you know how much to leave?
you explained in the video for flights you use your platinum card, grocery stores and dining out your gold card, department stores your chase Freedom .
but you didn't mention gas stations , shopping what if you purchased something at Bed bath and beyond, Modell's, Champs, J crew, Barnes and nobles, drug stores if you have to get your car oiled and lubed or if you went to a spa what card would you use?
I really love my Penfed Promise card, it doesn't have any points or cashback but it's a great no-fee card.
No annual fee
No balance transfer fee
No foreign transaction fee
No cash advance fee
No Late fees
I’m currently using the Capital One QuickSilver. Been doing research and I am about to revamp everything. Been considering the Amex Gold as the only card, but then I have been thinking of the Discover it card that matches all of your cash back the first year. Then, on top of all of that, I am also thinking of the Chase Trifecta. I’m torn at the moment. :-/.
Great vid! Best Youtuber in the Credit Card game
I’m mostly locked in to the Chase trifecta right now. CSR, Freedom, FU. Just got the Amex gold. Thinking about dropping the CSR but I have 170,000 chase points and kinda want that UR portal.
I rotate between Amex everyday preferred and Amex gold for the category bonuses. Navy fed for all other purchases.
Currently using the Amex SPG (signup bonus), British Airways Signature Visa (also signup bonus) and my Amex Gold Card.
I'm currently carrying CSR(travel and restaurants), freedom unlimited and AMEX SPG for minimum spend. I'm thinking about getting AMEX Platinum and/ or Citi Prestige(next year).
💰Currently using one card, the Rose Gold Amex! A lot of my spend comes from restaurants so its good. I might get the Platinum next month if they approve it, my Amex history is only a month.
Amex Everyday Preferred for all of my day to day purchases. Once I hit 30 transactions for the month, I get 1.5x back on all purchases and 3x back on gas. We hit this number very easily every month by topping off our gas tanks two times per day between the two of us (4 times per day) and splitting up daycare cost into 4 transactions rather than paying it all in one lump for the month. After 30 transactions are hit, it essentially becomes a Chase Freedom Unlimited that gets 3x back at gas stations and 1.5x on everything else. This is the card we use for 80% of all of our transactions.
I keep the Amex Rose Gold card for all groceries and restaurants. I get a ton of value from this card. My wife and I spend a lot at grocery stores and eat out quite a bit. We have a $400 per month budget for groceries and a $200 per month budget on fast food. Essentially we get 2400 point from this card per month alone. Sometimes more when we bust our budget 😬.
We have the Amex Platinum for travel, lounge access and other awesome perks that come with this card. This card is used the least but has some pretty amazing perks. Definitely a card worth having if you can get positive expected value after the $550 annual fee and the $175 authorized user fees.
These 3 cards are my trifecta. Combined annual fees are $895, but I get significantly more value from them than the fees.
Everyone is slowly switching over to a card case type of wallet. I recently switched too and I’m not looking back lol.
AMEX ROSE GOLD – for groceries/dinning/Flights + minimum spend.
CHASE FREEDOM – for My BJS trips this quarter.
CITI DOUBLE CASH BACK – pretty much for all my other purchases.
I’m currently using mostly
Amex Gold Card for food, groceries, and flights…
Discover it card for all my purchases (excluding what I use the Amex gold card for) during the first year of membership because of the cash back match for the 1st year of membership!
Nice wallet!! I carry a couple but getting the most swipes now is the Cap One Savor. With the updated benefits I’m getting 4% on food and entertainment and I was grandfathered with no annual fee.
