Don't worry, I'm not taking a break from YouTube or anything crazy - but I do want to discuss the importance of taking time off, going on vacation, taking a break, and not burning yourself out from grinding 24/7 like what's glamorized in so many of the YouTube channels. I've been working hard since this summer, now with my school work, I've always wanted to finish my work early and work on my job interview. I felt the urgent to finish things fast. And i would work on the same thing for hours without break. Now I felt burnt out and i started to take it easy and take breaks. It's so necessary and we often forget to take breaks. It makes the work more fun and efficient. Love ur video thank you!

Ainā€™t nobody got time for breaks! Grant Cardone says if you canā€™t afford to take a vacation, get the best hotel and fly first class to get there and back, and do WHATEVER you want while youā€™re there then you canā€™t go on vacation. I think thatā€™s a bit extreme, but itā€™s worth working towards.

Smashed the like, this is a really important topic that is often overlooked. You don't want to be lazy, but you don't want to burn out either.

Dude, thank you. Iā€™m at this point right now. Have HAD to take a break from my day job just to switch off and NOT be so on all the time. People can create habits of hustle where it makes you feel guilty when you stop. Thank you for the permission for it to be ok to have a break.

After watching your more recent videos, this one makes me smile. You have a thumbs up for this. I'm just not sure if you are following your own advise anymore. When is your time to vacation?

How are you able to manage a break with a real estate career where you have to be available to clients?

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Rachel S. Lee says:

I totally agree with you on this, Graham! I believe that worrying too much about something is something that we all need to take a break from. Taking a break to restart and to gain more strength to manage my online marketing business. This is so relatable.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sy Guzman says:

I feel the mentality of working long & hard is primarily an American šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø based way of living. Even young kids are lectured by their parents/teachers that in order to succeed in life they must work hard. There are even songs written about hustling šŸ¤£

Meanwhile, Europeans have set weeks out of the year when they take vacation. Not taking a vacation is considered nuts! šŸ¤Æ

In Asia, especially just before major holidays, shops and businesses are closed for days on end but in the USA, more and more businesses are now open for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's day. More Americans are diagnosed each year with anxiety, depression, and other mental disorders and I don't believe it's a coincidence.

While making a living is important, so is health and wellness. Since 2015, I've practiced taking myself on weekend breaks every month. The results: my neck/back muscles don't hurt like they used to, I don't worry/stress nearly as much, and my skin has cleared up and looks youthful šŸŒŸ

Well said, Dr. G. I hope you enjoyed some well-deserved R & R in London. Oh, by the way, Grant just called and he wants his voice back. šŸ˜‰

    Great message!

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Commando Master says:

Starting something is always the hardest part. It's a lot easier to continue when you are on a roll. Taking a break could lead to procrastination for a lot of people because they lack self discipline to restart again. Remember to set goals and deadlines so you don't find yourself taking breaks when you need to be working.

Think your right gonna invest few grand in crypto just want to get in when it's about to go back up not going with Bitcoin gonna look for other options

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Ellis says:

Why haven't more people seen these older videos I wonder?

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LandonGendur says:

Good lord… there's actually people out there that shun taking a break? Isn't the very definition of true success being able to sit back on the beach & have your business run itself?

Working your butt off is what people living paycheque to paycheque do. I don't want to be that person & no one should be. Coming back to the workforce renewed & energized is never a bad thing šŸ™‚ Thanks for sharing.

Love the captions by the way <3

  31. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jessica Burroughs says:

Fantastic video. I think people fail to realise that there's a difference between straight grinding and inspired action. You definitely have a higher threshold for mad hours when you're inspired, working towards a goal, or just working for yourself instead of 'the man'. You gotta find a balance. I think what all the gurus are saying is don't take the easy road, and master yourself so that you can find what it is you're hungry for and put in the sacrifice it will take to get it. Sometimes that means sacrificing sleep, or weekends cos you gotta make hay while the sun is shining. You're right though, when your life is out of balance you burn out and there's nothing to be done about it but rest and recharge. Even God rests.

  32. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Froggy Frog 9000 says:

Great point, I usually take a break and spend the time on other work
which involves different thinking, Last break I took, I hiked Tasmania,
searching for the Tasmanian Tiger (Didnt find it), and this break I am
installing an Ikea kitchen, – Similar to the one behind
    in the vid.

  33. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars A12345 says:

I've been working two full-time jobs for the last 2.5 years and haven't stopped. I opened my own finance company back in May and it's not profitable yet due to current market conditions but we're still 50% traders so we're hanging in there and bought my first single family home last October which after fixing up and doing a rent to own agreement back in March will be doing B.R.R.R. It feels like it's hard to take a break sometimes for an extended period of time bc I feel like I could be missing out on a potential opportunity, so I like to dedicate a weekend every few weeks to reset and not do anything work related and sometimes that works and other times you make the time for a forget about home and go on vacation and it definitely helps everything come into perspective. Listen to your body and keep a pulse on your performance, your mind and body will tell you when it needs to rest and when you can keep going

  34. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Graham Stephan says:

Donā€™t worry, Iā€™m not taking a break from YouTube or anything – but I do want to stress the importance of pacing yourself and taking a break when needed, and how you donā€™t always need to be one of these hustle 24/7 types to be successful. It works for some people, but for others itā€™s unsustainable – itā€™s more important to work efficiently on something youā€™re excited about than work around the clock just to keep yourself busy because thatā€™s something you ā€œshouldā€ be doing. Burn-out is real and itā€™s so important to work at whatever pace you can sustain long term and not be afraid to step aside once you feel that energy die down. PS.
