Russia just shut down the Nord Stream gas pipeline and Europe's energy crisis is getting worse.
But are higher gas and oil prices the only reason for the global energy collapse?

The truth is in the numbers.
Now, this is the information people need.
We are so frightnened of socialism we won't even scare the goliath companies with weak threats of taking them public. Avarious, without fear of impunity, and off they go.

I have to like this video – no choice. It is a very good analysis. Well done Sasha! I hate to say this – everyone can make Russia the bogeyman but the real (and quiet) winners are the unscrupulous energy companies.

Most of what you've said is true, expect for your catastrophic lack of understanding about how energy prices are set.
They are set by the market, due to scarcity, not the energy companies.
Without the crazy prices, then the tragedy of the commons kicks in because one entity can buy out all the supply, during a time of shortage.
The companies aren't setting the price, the market is.
We can talk about taxing the profits, aye but I'm so sick of hearing this pathetic low iq school child "ooo evil energy companies".
What's even worse is the fact that while we simultaneously spit out our dummies, over the profit, we also stop the companies reinvesting the money to increase the production and fix the problem.
It's ridiculous because the public will is being expertly redirected away from tangible solutions to the problem.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Noreen Holtzen says:

Europe is crippled by voluntary EU sanctions against Russia, but not by the Russian military actions themselves, for which the sanctions also have no effect. European politicians in obedience to Washington and against their public voluntary and knowingly walked into this mess.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Keyser Zoom says:

The irony in the UK is that energy prices are pegged to gas. So if you're being an environmentally conscientious citizen and switched to a renewable electricity deal you'll still pay inflated gas prices.

Isn’t Warren Buffett investing a lot in Occidental Petroleum? The greedy Buffett?

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars T N says:

We knew even before 9/11 to stop trusting Arab and Russian gas/oil. We had golden opportunities with the EV1 (before) or going all electric after 9/11 but instead we dug in went into Iraq (again). Wind, Hydro, NUCLEAR and Solar to powerwall grids coupled to EVs are the future. Bring the Kremlin and Gulf Arabs to their knees once and for all.

The UK will be more in a dire situation than the European Union due to isolation.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Geolykos says:

Well at least Liz has frozen energy bill prices. Not sure how they'll come up with the money but lets see

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jermunkle says:

Shutting down nuclear power plants to focus on Russian gas pipelines was the stupidest, likely most corrupt, decision ever.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Cory Drybrough says:

I find it hard to believe they will keep the gas shut off. I don’t know man in Canada it’s HOT as hell. No need for gas at this time if i was operating Nordstream2 and it needed to be shut down for maintenance then I would have done it now instead of closer to winter. But no question Russia using it to keep a grip on country’s. I’ll be NATO is using the whole global warming narrative to destroy Russia’s market.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Joao Vieira says:

Energy companies should be nationalised and become non profit.

Great video, basically confirming what I suspected all along and I thought it was me being my ultra cynical self about this situation!!
Oil/ Gas companies seeing this as one last hurrah before the ban on ICE cars in 2035 and carbon zero by 2050. In many ways its the 'little people' being screwed again by big corporations with the politicians and regulators turning a blind eye. Smacks of the 2008 financial system melt down, who paid then and who going to pay now…..?!!

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Yes WeCan says:

So Europe refuses to pay a supplier in its own currency. Why? Isn’t that shooting yourself in the foot? Then they want a price cap. That’s smart.

    greedy ugly corporates

  29. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bala Srinivasan says:

Everyone want their country to be safe. Last month, that pipe leaks to be repaired bypassed sanctions and sent to Canada to repair it. Canada agreed to repair turbine and pipe so that Europe can receive gas after that. So who is following sanctions. Did Canada, Germany, USA , UK followed sanctions without bypassing few rules not suitable for them?😁

  30. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Catalin Adler says:

You should learn about how the energy price system in EU before spreading such disinformation.
