So here's my response to the video made by ticker symbol. you about Palantir Now take a simple you which is a terrific channel here on finance YouTube It's Ran by A friend of mine Alex and he makes some of the best content on the platform. Made a critical video about Palantir, specifically criticizing the regional investing community of Palantir for misunderstanding what talent here is and what Pilotir AI is supposed to do. Now the first thing I want to explain here is I Don't want you to send any hate towards Alex because I think it's important to have contrasting opinions in this story because we don't want to be an echo chamber where people are not allowed to criticize Palantir, it's management or even its investors.
It's absolutely fine and I think it's doing important work. Now the first thing I want to explain here with Alex and Palantir. So Alex actually had an opportunity to work and utilize the platform to test it out for himself. so he has more hands-on experience than most people on the platform, which makes what he says very incredible.
and I have to say that to you so you know he's done some schmuck just talking about the software. He knows what he's talking about. but I think there's certain things that he is misunderstanding here about the software and the company and I'll explain. So I'm not a software engineer and I'm not going to talk about the intricacies of AIP and Foundry because I'm sure that something Alex knows way more than me about.
But in his video, his main argument was very, very simple. It was a two-fold argument. Number one was that Palantir is currently being created with a lot of its future success already priced in into the stock. Now that is a good point, but the fact of the matter is that it's the same point we can make for Tesla or Asml, the Dutch company with the lithography machines or any other good company.
It's going to be very hard for you to get it at a low price because everybody knows, everybody knows the great company, so it's always going to be trading at a premium. So that's not really a criticism of Palantir, just the criticism of the forward-facing markets that we operate in. So now it is what it is. You're always going to overpay a little bit for a good company and you're not going to get it cheap because you know the information is Flowing absolutely freely.
Now I Do have to point out I have no affiliation with Palantir I don't know anybody in the company I'm not getting paid to talk about this company. My only understanding comes from what I see in the open Source in you know public information. So by the way, the only contact I ever had with them. They emailed me once, offering for me to interview Shram Sankar and I missed the email for like six months.
Then six months later I was like hey, is this still relevant they never get back to me I think they got annoyed by that or whatever, but you know that was the extent of my communications with volunteer. So I have no Insight track about what's going on volunteer. Now My main point here is that Alex from ticker symbol U not Alex Carp is saying that a lot of the retail investment community things that Talent here is competing with Open AI that it's a generative AI company it's generating its own Ai and therefore it's competing with Open Ai and similar. and he's essentially saying, look, Panther isn't that? it's AIP Platform is essentially a package in which every company takes a large language model off the shelf and it uses the AIP platform to utilize that Llm the large language model into its own business to make sense of its massive amounts of data and he's basically saying, well, look, The biggest problem with that is that eventually these LMS the Open AIS the Microsofts right? They're going to incorporate these features into their own Llm into their own product and therefore rendering palantir irrelevance. They're going to cut out the planetary Services because they're going to build it themselves now. I Want to point out two things: number one again: Alex You're talking about something that's going to happen maybe in the future. I agree that this is a possibility sure, but it hasn't happened yet. and you're talking about something that may happen how long it's going to take them to build AIP How good it's going to be.
How receptive the market is going to be The idea for Palanty right now and this is another thing it criticizes. Political Force like Pioneer isn't really monetizing. AIP Right now, they're all about grabbing market share. but I think the reason they're doing this is because now it's the time to grab that market share before the competition comes in.
If you establish relationships, if you establish work operations with these companies, then when certain competitors will appear, Palantir is going to have a Stranglehold on the market. So it makes total sense to me what planet is doing right now, which is almost kind of do a lost lead essentially get into the front door, deploy the system, and then then start charging and once they're already in the business. Now the the main thing I want to explain here is a novice you know in the in the software industry or I would say rather Layman not a novice, but not as an engineer. It's like look, AI is a gold rush I think everybody can agree.
So if AI is the new Gold Rush and everybody's now prospecting for gold I Just want to remind you that the people who made the most amount of money during the Gold Rush times were the people who were selling the shovels, not the people who were digging around for gold. So all these generative AI companies that are not competing with itself. There's thousands of these companies. Everybody is now a generative AI competitor.
They're all prospecting for the next chunk of gold. But commentary is selling the shovels. It's selling Aib, which is a tool you use to dig for gold. Literally, just data gold. So my understanding is very, very simple. This is a gold rush. and the company I like and I'm bullish on is selling the shovels. Historically speaking, that's not a bad business.
Are there going to be any other shovel sellers out there? Maybe. Who knows. Will they grab market share from volunteer? Depends on how much market share Palantir grabs right now, how strong it becomes in the market if it becomes an industry standard. It was a monopoly like Peter till projected about six years ago and it's gonna be very hard for competitors to come in and do that.
Now the other thing is I Think it's important to understand we're talking about a company that's be basically built in the image of Peter Thiel Now you may not like Peter Thiel You may think he's an whatever you may think, but he's one hell of a shark in their ruthless sob and it's not going to be steamrolled by anybody. I Think it's proven that so if Peter Thios is involved in this company, if he's the founder and he's the chairman of the board, you think he doesn't understand what these guys are talking about. He doesn't know about what they're about to do. I think Peter Thiel is a ruthless shark and having him in the company while I may not you know want to have a beer with him and hang out with him.
Having him as you know, the founder and the chairman of the board of the company that I'm investing in makes me very I Would say confident that all these future threats are addressed and managed Now Is there 100 guarantee that Palantir would Triumph and go 25x from now? Hell no. Nothing in this life is guaranteed. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. The only thing that I guaranteed in this life are death and taxes.
Everything else is up for crabs. Hope you have a great Sunday.
Palantir's success is directly linked to the prevalence of conflicts and instability in the world.
Pltr is garbage, when there are such good companies to invest in why buy capital destructive junk like this.
NVIDIA is selling shovels even lower in the food chain- 100% necessary chips and network systems.
Sorry Tom, but with all due respect, I think your comparison is absurd. The company selling the shovels is not Palantir. It's NVIDIA.
I hope the following words don't become a TLDR.
Peter Thiel has a problem on his hands with Palantir. He made a bet ten years ago (I'd say it was an excellent bet, with the information available at the time) that now may not be as promising as he had hoped.
At that time, Palantir defined a long-term strategy that consisted of manually building the ontologies of all the types of companies that existed "under the sun" (or at least the important ones), something that originated in the field of "Management Engineering" that was very much in vogue at the time (you might want to do some research on this).
On those ontologies (which are nothing more than the logic of business models translated into digital models, creating what are sometimes called "digital twins") Palantir would build a rule-based AI (one of the old ways of doing AI) to extract business knowledge.
Palantir uses machine learning to fine-tune the weights defined by the engineers in these "digital twin" models. They don't "emerge" (with features previously unknown to the engineers, with genius features that nobody ever thought of).
The real problem with Palantir is that management has realized it may be on a less "interesting" path than initially expected a decade ago.
They started communicating with stakeholders and shareholders, stating that Palantir products were/are just like all the other AI products appearing. That's not true.
Things have evolved rapidly in recent months. The company felt the need to try and catch up by developing a technology it doesn't have in its portfolio so that the investment made over the last decade doesn't look like a total waste.
This actually gave me some good insight. Thanks Tom
thiel in this company ?? oy vey. never trust a man who is married to a man.
PLTR’s slow revenue growth, decaying dollar retention, and that fact that a lot of other companies are chipping away at their service offerings makes investing in them a hard pass
I have been adding every time it takes a dip
Hi Tom, I really appreciate your insights and I genuinely believe you actually know what you are talking about. However, why do you have to put the headlines of "IT'S OVER" or "THE END" or GAME OVER" on EVERY single piece of content you create. That is the type of over sensationalized move that main stream media uses all the time, and I think you are above that. If I was you I would trust in the value of your content and not resort to all the click bait-ie style of tactics.
Concrasting
I'm following your Palantir adventure, Tom.
But I won't invest in them, because I don't understand them.
Glad you do understand them, though!
I'm just a retired software engineer. And with the information available to me I just can't tell either way.
And Karp, he really is a talker, but I don't understand him either.
Though, I admire his wild hair. i'm sure it should tell us something. Something more than that he has been standing in a strong headwind.
I like growth businesses. Like Tesla and ASML, which you mentioned. But those are easy to grasp.
Anyone who have read Tolkien know how dangerous it is to look into a palantir. I'm afraid the forces of darkness reside there. And Im no Hobbit to challange that!
Tesla🎉🚀
Great video Tom. Exactly what I was thinking when watching his video
I follow both Tom and Alex
If markets were rational I would short PLTR, it is a overvaluaed, overhyped company (I am a software engineer). The tech they boast about is no more that custom stuff tailed to specific needs, building something generic at that scale is impossible, and using AI for integrations, is stupid, software requires precision, nobody accepts data that is 99% correct of the time, and that is why AI will not be usuable outside of very specific categories it is already used in, such as translation, voice recognition, and image recognition in low stakes env (that excludes self driving). The problem is that only people who over hype AI are the people who will benefit from it the most, founders, or investors. So far it is a self fulfilling prophecy, but it will come crumbling down at some point.
Also one major point that both of you need to mention is that pltr already has a proven track record, and is already in use in the feild both by Government and commercial. Sure other players and big names will come on up in the future, but by then pltr will already be industry dominant, proven software and capabilities, while the other companies play catchup. Pltr to AI is like tesla to EVs. it's too late for any other company to catch up to tsla autonomous driving. Tesla is years ahead. Much like pltr is already in use on the battlefield while other companies try to build a platform . Meanwhile, pltr is building its market share now.
More and more companies are integrating cryptocurrency into their operations. Its actually interesting because it opens the door to investments. I would say its the new financial future. I recently started collaborating with Cannafarm Ltd, and it seems
I dont know, all of this sounds questionable, with too many potential pitfalls. I believe there are more reliable options out there. I recently found a company called Cannafarm Ltd, and Ive been consistently earning with them. I think its better to foc

This certainly sounds good too, but I think its still worth considering more reliable options like traditional businesses such as cannafarm ltd, for example.
I honestly dont understand why youre discussing these dubious schemes. There are plenty of options like Cannafarm Ltd and similar ones that are fast and profitable.
Are cryptocurrency and business incompatible? I think youre not keeping up with the news. While you thought it was impossible, some enthusiasts from Cannafarm Ltd integrated cryptocurrency into the production of medical cannabis. What do you say now?

It’s a wise man who knows which end of the shovel is for digging and which for leaning.
Bored
PLTR will go up even more 🎉
975 shares not selling.
Funny how you are the only one that doesn't no palantir is a CIA front company but maybe you do….
Could PLTR eventually get into trouble with the FTC regarding a monopoly?
I'm not a fan of Ticker Symbol U, don't quite agree with what he is saying because it's rather short sighted. Unsubscribed from him long ago.
Alex and ticker symbol You Is trash. I have followed him for a while and first he kissing Ark’s rear for a long time, people bought in because of his videos (many have stated so) and are down 70% or more. Then he tries to shift and act as if he is neutral. I would take his video info like a grain of salt and see what he has to say just to check/compare others with my own research. Just my opinion.
If it goes to 5, I’m quadrupling down lol
tom, you were my best to my worst. thanks for making me learn to hate stocks 😅
Good to hear you start off this way. People need to start thinking this way.
