US Inflation has dropped from 9.1% to 8.5% and the stock market is jubilant with the market going green.
But is the stock market celebrating too early?
There are some very big underlying problems with inflation and these have not gone away. In fact they have got a lot worse.
Core energy, food and shelter prices are still absurdly high with food and shelter increasing.
There is a very real risk of shelter continuing to increase for the next 12 to 24 months and food is showing no signs of slowing down.
And the pressure on wages for low paid workers is only getting worse.

8.5% inflation sucks. Just sucks. Celebrating that is stupid. The FED and Political class are collectively economic illiterates. They've been wrong so often that referencing these frauds as "experts" is itself a fraud. Too much power concentrated in our Federal government – they too easily wreck economies which they have. Zero faith in these clowns.
It will be consumers and the private sector that once again save the economy despite the interference from these douche Canoes mucking the economy to shreds. A pox on their ill gotten homes.

Looks like now everyone just getting use all bad things. If it is not going worse, then everyone thinking we are all back to normal. It is just very funny about sentimental humanism. CPI 8.5% is still super high and the CORE index is pretty much the same. There are not much signs that the macroeconomic environment is improving except oil coming down to ~90. Some commodities price is also coming down 20-30%. Keep in mind winter is coming in 2 months and will drive the price going up again especially the demand from Europe.

But don't you think the housing and rentals are kind of picked in USA, it was increasing sharp continuously throughout last year, there are places where rents increased 50-70%. My apart rent is up 25% in last 1 year, but I don't expect any more increase in my rental right? Whatever price increased that may sustain but that doesn't mean more inflation from here one. So why you are expecting shelter inflation to continue aggressively?
Biggest risk is energy. Oil prices cause all goods to increase. People can adjust a few variables but when all variables cost more people are screwed. If people can’t pay the rent then costs will come down. Rent is to high . Unless government gives out money for rent and causes more inflation.
Sasha you forgot to mention why gas- oil price went, because of oil reserves is being used.

Sasha, nothing can please you. Shelter is mostly OER and not rent. If you look at the fred oer prices, oer are getting lower. Enjoy the rally.
Excellent analysis! Necessities for lower and middle class people keep going through the roof. And it hurts them a lot. Europe is indeed in for a really tense winter. Apart from possible shortages, costs will be off the charts.
Its crazy how the markets ignore the details and only focus on the headline numbers – the markets (well my portfolio) has gone crazy today.
I don't know why the markets are making a big deal of the .2% from expectation. Remember a few months back… One months says nothing and we all know that. This is all part of the economic cycle that was expected given the conditions. Month over month… no change. And the most costly household items, food and shelter are up. Let's not get optimistic or pessimistic here😎

the thing that CPI doesn't show is that if shelter is 1/3 of the CPI, its probably 1/10 for rich people CPI, but probably over 1/2 of CPI for poor people…
And why would shelter costs not stop increasing soon? It's very easy to pick a number and say that it's trend will continue, but it's not a true fundamental analysis of the situation. To be clear, money was printed so prices have to increase, but this video doesn't add much, you might as well have read some random numbers from the report.
