New or part-time traders might struggle with finding ideal times to make their trades; whether it’s pre-market, morning, afternoon or after hours.
Pre-market is usually a good time to avoid making trades. Every now and then, there might be a stock that's so attractive in premarket that you feel like you have to trade it, but typically, premarket is a time to watch, take notes, build your watchlist, and get prepared for the day.
After-hours (after 4 p.m. EST) is another timeframe that Tim recommends you avoid trading. Stocks can be very volatile and unpredictable during these hours, so it’s best to avoid after-hours trading. This is another time that can be used to research, plan and prepare your trades.
Tim Bohen’s favorite time to trade is roughly around 9:45 EST. This is where the market recovers from the volatile market open, and begins to make a trend. This morning window is great because you’ve got a clearly defined stop-loss in the morning.
Tim’s second favorite time to trade is around the 2 p.m. EST window. A lot of part-time traders can’t catch the morning window, and this one is easier to enter and exit positions. These afternoon trades have more clearly defined risk, entries and stop-losses.
In summary, watch closely in premarket. If there’s no actionable news, be patient and wait for the ‘dip and rip’. Wait for that new high break around that 9:45 window. Then, in the middle of the day when stocks often get a little choppy - watch, prepare, and get ready for that 2 p.m. window.

I think you might want to consider adding an entertaining background if you haven't yet. I like this video, has some decent, very basic information that is easy to follow for new traders. However, it was definitely hard to pay attention to. very boring because of the plain white backdrop and dinky into/outro music.
Never. I kee losing money and i’m literally gonna fucking go at someones throat soon.
I’m new to this. I have bought stocks but not sure when or what I should trade? Thank you
As a trader, I try not to listen to many people because it's easy to get influenced and I never base my decisions on other people BUT…I did want to see what Tim had to say and I agree for the most part. 2PM is kinda sketch still. I do like 2:45PM until the end for the afternoon trades. Get in, get out, make your money, and walk away. Good video. Lots of good tips.
I've been the most profitable between 9:30am to about 10:15am. And most of my trades have happened between 9:30am to 9:40am.
I’m a new trader. This is the first video ( I’ve seen ) that expresses precise info about when, where and why.
Thanks for that!
i wanna do day trade
Morning trades, TB, not pre-market, want to see if it rockets or opportunity for dip buys, VWAP
Love it! 9:45am is a great window, i try to be patient to not try to buy before that. This will be my first week i actually have studied the market the last month and going to start part time trading!
Nice to finally find the video that explains the VWAP hold. Every time you mention it in the premarket prep I'm like I gotta figure out what that means. I actually noticed the 1 pm spike myself. I just didn't know that's what you called it.
To answer your question: I used to trade trend breakouts, so any time besides market open and lunch time.
Then I spent some years exclusively during the market open and never traded longer than an hour.
Now I combined both approaches, but the increased time span is a lot to take on, so I will need to tighten my requirements for qualifying conditions.
New Subbie👍🏾 clear explanation 💯
Morning.. 10000000% not even a competition
