In theory, Tesla's robotaxi network sounds as if it would be a fantastic idea. However, there is still one major issue: how will the robotaxis charge if there is nobody inside the vehicle?
In this video, I discuss why I believe Tesla will reveal its plan to ramp up a self charging supercharger network.

With the improvement of Tesla's self-driving technology and battery lifetime, it's safe to say that Tesla's Robo taxi network will eventually roll out whether it be in one year or ten years. However, while the idea sounds fantastic, there is still one major issue: how well the Robo taxis charge if there is no human operating the vehicle in this video, I'm going to discuss why I believe Tesla will soon ramp up a super charging network that will be self Charging before I begin, please hit the like button and subscribe. If you haven't already, it really helps out with the channel with that being said, let's get right into it. Tesla is famous for its unconventional features, including the Sentry mode, fadi mode and gaming system.

A self charging supercharger may seem like an absurd idea for an automaker like Ford or GM, but for Tesla it's something they've been planning to do for quite a while. Take a look at a video Tesla, released four years ago, where the automaker developed a prototype of a self charging supercharger. One of the key factors in Tesla's batteries is the time it takes for a vehicle to charge at a supercharger. The ultimate goal for Tesla is to allow super charging networks to be as quick or even quicker than a gas station, by removing the need for the driver to get out of their car and plug in a supercharger to their Tesla.

This would decrease the time it takes for Tesla's to charge and therefore make electric vehicles look like a more attractive option compared to the internal combustion engine. Elon Musk has previously made it very clear that he would like to make the charging time of Tesla's faster than gasoline vehicles. We filled the gas station gas stations on the big screen and there's the battery pack getting swapped out with some festive lights. Another reason why I believe self-charging superchargers are coming soon is because of the health issue that YouTube continues to censor in the age of the current pandemic.

Cleanliness is very important to the majority of the population. This also applies to superchargers, as once the economy reopens and people begin to travel. It only makes sense. Do not have people transmit the virus when charging their vehicles to top it off.

Tesla supercharger hasn't been updated since March of 2019, so it's safe to say that Tesla will soon unveil its v4 supercharger as humans. We all enjoy passive income, there's nothing better than making money without putting in extra work. If Tesla was to roll out its self-charging Network, then the only barrier would be the initial cost of rolling out the network. Once this network is fully set up, the expenses of these networks would only come down to the cost of electricity and repairs.

As of now, the only question is whether Tesla will be willing to spend the extra money on self charging vehicles. Eventually, since Tesla would like to roll out its Robo taxi network, the company must release a self charging supercharger. The only question is when Tesla will begin to ramp up the self charging charger. The technology for self charging vehicles is already here, as even a Dutch startup was able to create a self charging charger.

WRONG WRONG WRON WRONG WRONG… SELF CHARGING means the BATTERY CHARGES AS THE CAR DRIVES!!!! NOT AT A CHARGING STATION> CHARGING STATIONS WON'T WORK… THEY ARE HOOKED UP TO THE GRID….. NO NO NO NO NO…. NO GRID~~~

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Charles Love says:

It only makes sense that a vehicle can charge battery’s by traveling down the road. The problem is the EPA the maniac Democrats in congress

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Kassebaum says:

I was thinking that they would create a car that would be capable of charging itself as you drive and thus eliminating the need to plug in somewhere. Are we going to get there in the next 10-20 years?

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mik says:

Self charge old technologi….everything is a long time ago. it's just waiting for the money to be drawn from you. then they use the old – new technology. slave system.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars bernard ansah says:

It doesn't make sense at all. Why if you know you are bringing electric vehicles instead of you bringing the self charging vehicle that some of us has in Africa has already thought about it, all electric companies are building charging stations. Is waste of money. Just go direct thats it.

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bhushan Wagle says:

the alternator with more magnetic poles provide more electricity to car and self charge the battery. With more magnetic poles the alternator can generate much more electricity than it consumes for rotation. No need to charge car externally until there would be an emergency. So by this technique drive your car with self charge unlimited electricity.

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J Chany says:

I would like to see if the cars battery charge itself as the car is going . No need to stop at a charging station . Is it possible?

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nelson Lopez says:

Not what I expected, by self charging vehicle I am looking for self charging car without external help

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Steven says:

Skip the self-charging stations – Perpetual Charging. Add the needed Components – Extra Batteries, Alternators & Capacitors into the EV's. As they move they charge the batteries and fill the capacitors replacing what they use.
While stationary, solar materials for all surfaces of EV's will help top off the charge. That would end the combustible engine.

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars AnalystPrime says:

Robots are of course awesome, but IMHO robotaxis could use human attendants. In fact there could be a business in basic charging stations where you leave your EV to attendants and go for lunch or whatever while car goes to a charger once one is free(as number of EVs rise, waiting in line will become more likely) and to a parking lot once it is charged, allowing the owners to spend more time elsewhere is they are busy. Extra services like cleaning or washing your car would be easy to sell, and given Teslas have cameras everywhere you don't have to worry about the attendants messing with your car or stealing your stuff. Of course, this is something you would only use when you are not planning to keep driving in five minutes.
Robotaxis would benefit from such service even more as people are still cheaper than even simple robots like this, and the attendants can check that each vehicle is clean inside and out, and that customers haven't forgotten anything there, ensuring safety of the car and good customer service.

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Elliott Savva says:

Lol I thought this was a joke. It doesn't charge itself. The charger just automatically links to the car.

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gordon Tyler says:

I do not believe this will ever happen. Instead, there will be a new Tesla job created – 'robo taxi steward'. This person will stay at a Super Charger and attend to the robo taxi vehicles as they arrive. They will need to inspect the vehicle from the previous rider(s) and record any damage. Probably disinfect the interior also while it's charging. These tasks already need to be done by a human and an automatic charging system adds unnecessary complexity and failure points.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars William Whitman says:

Self charging? You mean self connecting. The Prius is self charging. Not the Tesla.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars brandt frankie says:

This is really not all that difficult. Tesla and pretty much any other engineering firm familiar with automation could do this easily. It’s just not necessary, or worth the investment at this point.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David W says:

I think this approach is stupid…. some snake like thing plugs its self in.
Mobile phones and many other things now can be charged with induction plates. So put an induction plate in every car slot in every car park. Just park over the plate.
A little technology and intellegent software can manage the rest, this won't be as efficient as a Wire plug but infrastructurally far more better, cheaper and elegant.
btw. "Self Charging Vehicles" nice clickbait it would be more correct to use the description "Automonus Vehicle Charging bays"

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Morbo the Turtle says:

Battery swapping would be amazing! Especially for their semi. It would probably be more expensive though. Maybe do a deluxe edition of each of their cars that have this ability. That way, if you say live in a place without a charger, you can buy these variants and not spend 30 minutes a day at a charging station, but if you have a charger at home, you could opt for the cheaper car that has the batteries permanently installed

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Everything Options says:

I'd love to see something like wireless charging but it would use a ton of energy I would imagine. That prototype is looks like something out of a sci-fi movie

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars The Jackal Smith says:

Old news, too expensive and probably unreliable. Superchargers go down all the time. Now add this. How about a spare tire for when you get a flat in your expensive vehicle. It can be dangerous sitting on the side of a high speed highway because you hit a pothole that only destroys Tesla tires and rims.

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jpusar says:

I was just wondering…why not just charge from the bottom?
Yeah, I know…the image of a car having sex with the ground isn’t pretty, but I would imagine it would be easier from an automation perspective if the car had to navigate to a specific point than the pump itself having to find the car like that Tesla demonstration video. Plus most electric cableing is under pavement anyway.

I can see sort of a spot where sensors guide a car to park (like planes do for an ILS approach) and when it’s successfully aligned a rod pops up from the ground automatically in the same spot for every car. Then at a set point of charging it detaches and the car is free to be driven again.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Glenn edwards says:

Wow has no one taken a taxi even. There are bigger technology issues to be cracked than getting a Tesla to self charge. I would say that a Tesla robo taxi fleet will operate on the same system as supermarket checkouts with a human continually in charge of multiple taxis. Why because forget about getting the taxi to self charge how are you going to get a sleeping drunk out of it or get the puke out of the same drunk or find that purse a lady has left behind or stop a couple having a quickie on a journey that is going to be a problem! Hey Siri tell those tow to stop shagging!! yes that is going to help

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Benjamín Rodríguez Sánchez says:

This is possibly true in near future. You have to think that they should change all the supercharger grid all around the world.

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Calvin Croucher says:

While I would like to subscribe to your channel your voice is too robotic and difficult to listen to. Good content but please adjust your speech pattern.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MrMonkeybat says:

Magnetic resonance charging pads can be put under the tarmac so you don't have to plug in at all.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Tremayne says:

Why not just hire a couple of people to physically plug in the charging cables into each car that comes in to the charging stations, PLUS they also vacuum, clean and tidy up the inside ready for the next robotaxi duties.??

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars timmyfung01 says:

not just the taxi application, but it can also apply to other aspects for it's users, an example of it is parking at work, I live in Calgary Canada and we have the highest car parking charge in the whole North America, lots of folks who work in downtown are forced to pay high parking fees.
Now if you think a step ahead, if Tesla can drive itself back to the user's garage and charge itself for the next 6-8 hrs when the user is working in his/her company. no one needs to pay parking fees anymore, that will save hundreds of dollars per month if Tesla can drive itself and charge itself after it gets home.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Sunny Cheung says:

Charge when car was not used
With auto drive can charge overnight
Owner no need to go to charging station save time
Higher utility rate of charging facilities & less queue time

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gary Carson says:

The key to self-charging for Tesla Robotaxi fleet and for their Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Autobidder business potential is wireless charging using the magnetic resonance wireless charging developed by WiTricity (a company founded by several MIT students). This will make the implementation of a Robotaxi fleet and vehicle to grid a lot easier and much more effective. If parking lots and garages at home, at work, at shopping centers, at sporting events were configured with magnetic resonance wireless charging devices embedded in the asphalt, then EVs and Robotaxis would be connected to the grid many more hours per day without the additional effort by the driver to connect a cable to a typical charging station or the use of complicated mechanical cable attachment devices.

As Robotaxis become ubiquitous, Tesla should be able to purchase or lease unused parking lots on the outskirts of major cities and configure each parking space with wireless fast charging systems embedded in the asphalt. The Robotax fleet could drive to the nearest Tesla charging station and recharging the vehicles while they are being cleaned (disinfected) by the Tesla service team. Tesla could also cover the parking lot with a canopy of solar panels or use a nearby wind farm configured with a Megapack battery to provide the renewable electricity to the embedded fast chargers.
Wireless charging devices could be embedded in the asphalt at airport taxi pickup locations, in front of hotels, football and baseball stadiums, arenas, and convention centers so that while the Robotaxi fleet is waiting for customers to exit the football or baseball game, they can be charging or selling electricity back to the grid.
I predict that Tesla will either buy WiTricity, invest in WiTricity or make a deal with WiTricity so that these wireless charging devices and be produced in mass quantities to lower the cost and become ubiquitous. Check out the videos about WiTricity’s new magnetic resonance wireless charging technology.

  28. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Kevin Breau says:

I would like to see induction charging under the cars. I think with the better batteries that it will be coming in the future, maybe better induction charging as well.
