With Tesla's Battery Investor Day approaching, Tesla has been filing plenty of patents related to Tesla's new battery technology. Recently, a report showed that Tesla has been developing a 'second life' battery that will also last for a million miles. Along with improved lifetime, these batteries will actually be cheaper than before. Ultimately, the goal is for Tesla to sell vehicles at an affordable price, which is what Tesla's new battery will allow for.

While all eyes on solid-state batteries, it's becoming clear that Tesla has been working on improving the existing lithium-ion battery. These innovations are all occurring in Tesla's battery research project, codenamed Roadrunner, which looks the mass-produced Tesla's new battery at a cost below $ 100 per kilowatt hour. In the US, Tesla has its own suppliers for lithium, nickel and every other metal required to build its own battery. However, in China, it's a totally different environment in this video.

I'm going to explain what Tesla's new second-life CHEO battery is and discuss why this technology will change the electric vehicle space forever. Before I begin, please take a moment and hit the like button and subscribe. It really helps out with the channel with that being said, let's get right into it. A common criticism against electric vehicles is that the batteries used in these vehicles are going to be dumped in a wasteland after its lifetime is completed.

Tesla's new second life battery will fix this issue. A new report by readers states that electric carmaker Tesla plans to introduce a new low-cost, long life battery in his model, 3 sedan and China later this year that it expects for bringing the cost of electric vehicles in line with gasoline models in allow evie batteries. To have second or third lives in the evey power grid in Australia, Tesla has set up a power grid where every home has a solar panel and a power walk all connected with wiring. This power grid is connected to an even larger storage called a Tesla power pack with Tesla's new CA TL battery.

This will allow Tesla to purchase, used batteries and reuse them in power grades like Australia's. The reason why this is so revolutionary is primarily because of lower expenses by recycling, expensive metals like lithium, cobalt and nickel. This will both increase the supply while reducing Tesla's reliance on mining companies. The report by leaders also talks about how Tesla's new CA, TL partnered battery will allow for a lifetime of 1 million miles similar to Tesla's batteries in the US, as it stated that the new million mile battery at the centre of Tesla's strategy was jointly developed with China's contemporary ampere ex technology Ltd, also known as CA, TL and deploys technology in collaboration with the team of academic battery experts recruited by musk 3 people familiar with the effort said a few weeks ago, Elon Musk lowered the price for the Tesla Model 3 in China.

So that the company could receive China's electric vehicle incentives by vertically integrating into the battery manufacturing process, Tesla will be able to produce batteries at both a low cost in a long lifetime and therefore be able to lower the cost of the Model. 3 and model Y drone shots above Tesla's Shanghai gigafactory have recently revealed that Tesla's Shanghai Giga Factory is rapidly expanding. This new expansion will double if not triple the size of Tesla's Shanghai Giga factory. A few months ago, Elon Musk revealed his plan to manufacture a Chinese made vehicle would be too and ever so we're gon na do it.
I mean try to do it is to create a China, design and engineering center to actually design like an original car in China for worldwide consumption. I think this will be very excited. I think China has some of the best art in the world and I think it's something that that would be appreciated, rowing up on a worldwide basis, and I think it should be done you're gon na do it. You know, try something just like kind of radical.

You know like cyber truck, you know nobody was expecting that and that's it so try to do something just like you know, like just cool and different and some of the world hasn't seen before, but like that really moves their heart. Guess you're right there and that's that's the kind of part that you want. We wish there were more of those things all right. That's what we're going to do by both lowering the cost of Tesla's batteries and reusing them.

This will allow Tesla to release a vehicle. More affordable to the majority of the population. Ultimately, the plan to renew batteries and vertically integrate into the battery manufacturing process will be revealed on Tesla's body and festered a go check out the link in the description below to get one free, stop valued at at least twelve dollars on weibo. ICE car values drop towards zero at around 15-20 years old. A 50KWh EV with VTG should maintain a value of $5000+ as a battery storage for homes or business

Apart from a second life of batteries, ultimately a full recovery system will be required for the base materials for Re manufacturing

So much conflicting battery news. CATL, Maxwell, Dry Electrodes, Tapless Batteries, & Glass Electrodes, Single Crystal.

Battery Day is going to be amazing, but I am curious how all the patents & speculation end up weaving together.

Like Renault , Tesla should sell the car with a leased battery. Batt. tech improves quickly so the consumer gets to keep up with it and Tesla gets to resell a refurbished battery for domestic use.

What will a new EV price be if the car battery is leased separately?
Or what will it be if the car is bought with a Virtual Power Plant agreement with the local utility Co?
if people can get a Model Y at Hondas price, that is the end of ICE car.

Before recycling batteries from Tesla EVs, I think Tesla plans to give these batteries a second life by using these batteries for grid storage and perhaps their Powerwalls. When an EV battery degrades to 80% of it’s original capacity, these battery packs can be replaced with newer batteries because range, weight, and space is very important in vehicle transportation. Range, weight, and space is not as important in grid storage applications therefore 80% capacity batteries can be used for many more years in these environments lowering the cost for grid storage and home battery solutions.

The current battery used in Tesla's vehicles, already has a second life as a engery storage unit for Solar & Wind. The million mile battery refers to the life of the car and how long it can operate so if the current crop of Tesla's battery would last a decade after it initial use in a car. Think about a million mile battery and how long it would last as a engery storage unit. Five decades or less, this is going to be another nail in the coffin for Gas peaker plants.

Other automakers will make some good E-cars too, but Tesla is really dominating in all areas and getting farther and farther ahead with their battery technology, self-driving, marketing, etc. Don't bet against Elon Musk! Thanks for another great video.
