Tesla is just about to join the S&P500, what things MUST you know before they do?
What does S&P500 inclusion mean for Tesla? How will it effect Tesla in the future? why are they joining the S&P500? how high could the price go? and should you buy right now, or wait a few days for all the attention to cool down?
The S&P500 is a list of the 500 largest US companies (or 505 larges stocks) and is calculated by taking the cumulative market capitalisation of all of the companies in the S&P500 and dividing by 8.7billion.
Tesla is only just joining the S&P500 based on the strict criteria set out, namely that Tesla has only recently become profit making. The tesla stock has increased from around $408 a share to nearly $700 a share after the announcement.
I believe the shares could go as high as $800 a share on Monday after its inclusion, but will likely fall shortly after and therefore it may be best to pick up some tesla a few days after at a bit of a discount.

Great video again Thomas, love the coverage on EVs recently. Personally think since the announcement atleast, these index fund companies have been bought these shares already, have options in place or shares in other funds which can be transferred over. Therefore we won’t see a massive change in the TESLA share price.
Index funds already bought on market close on Friday with MOC orders during the closing cross.
I can't wait Dec 21 to see what happens with the share prices. i am bullish on TESLA-TSLA and want to see if the Cathie Wood price prediction of $4000 to $7000 will come soon or later.
