This is a follow-up to my video “How to find a mentor - the RIGHT way.” I explain EXACTLY how I met each person in my life who became a mentor and EXACTLY what was involved. I hope you enjoy this type of video!
Since clickbait sucks:
How I met Chris:
By going to aquarium meet-ups and sharing my excitement for fish, coral, and photography. I just wanted to be able to photograph his warehouse, his fish, and coral - I never intended to work with him.
How I met Van:
By going to open houses and asking agents their opinions about the business. I randomly met him after 2.5-3 months of doing this - I never intended to work with him.
How I met Jason:
By already working in the industry and doing a deal with him that originated by a craigslist lease. I never intended to work with him.
In ALL the scenarios above, there’s one common theme: I never intended for it to happen, it just happened. It was assumed that they would be a mentor, it was implied and not directly asked. I was doing what I wanted ALREADY, not waiting around for them to come around.
Start on what you want to do, DO IT ANYWAY, and eventually you meet people that want to help you out. Hope you enjoy!

Graham, you're one of my mentors!
I like your mentors especially Cris! Make the customers happy like deliver experience to them! I literally spent the whole day listening to your playlist on real estate over and over lol while doing my very first experiment with coloring my hair hahahah before I go to the capital of the Philippines to sign a contract with my broker. Thank you, Stefan!
Hey dude it's clear now where you got your great attitude from thx for the vid from years back!
Powerful video of how networking and connecting can open doors of opportunity.
Graham 🥺
“SunCor Financial MPI review”
What light where you using?
This man is such a G!
The way Graham pronounced mediocre is mediawkward xD
How were you able to get into the high end Open houses? Most of the high end houses in my area are in gated communities.
You right about answering back to the comments because the first time I pretty much commented, you responded to my comment and I was like "OOOH GRAHAM REPLIED" and also I know you might not read this but I wanna become a real estate agent and I'm 18 but I don't know what to do.
Btw ur awesome🌚
It's a shame this video doesn't have more views, it's a great story! Thanks for being a YouTube mentor
Another informative video. Mind-blowingly inspirational! Made me think of "Pay It Forward". You are effectively paying it forward by sharing this with us, and I'm humbled by it. Now to think how I can do the same!
2020, and this is so good! Blending different styles becomes your personality at the core!
Graham, you're one of my mentors! Love your content. You really got me tracking my expense and helped me get my finance in great shape.
There's always someone else with more knowledge and experience. Teachers open the door, but the student must walk through it them self.
Hey Graham, is it possible to be a real estate agent on the side? I'm in college right now and in a huge debt. I want to get into the real estate business but I don't know if it's something you can do as a side hustle. Man, I look up to you, keep up the good content, and any advice you can give me would be very appreciated!
Graham, these are great stories. Thank you for sharing. I found your channel a few months ago and am going back through your entire collection.
This was so good Graham. Ignore the haters (as you are already doing). You are delivering value to the audience for which you intend.
Had to come see how my mentor met his
I know this video is pretty old but I'm 18 years old and just getting into real estate. I've been trying to reach out to many top agents in my area to become an intern or assistant for them but nothing has really gone through. It has been a bit discouraging but this video was exactly what I needed to hear. I just felt the urge to thank you and tell you I absolutely love your content, so yeah thanks a lot Graham!
You’re inspiring!
