Tune in for example WiMi Hologram Cloud Inc. (NASDAQ: WIMI). A lot of new traders got bagged on this press release.
First, look for buzzwords.
For example: WIMI obtained a patent. Here’s a snippet from the press release: “New 3D Holographic Pulse-Laser Processing Device to Further Advance the Application of Holographic Technology in EV Autonomous Driving and Other EV Areas.”
Yes, it is a patent, but how big of a market is 3D Holographic Pulse-Laser Processing? And it’s a penny stock with a history of failing.
When you see these buzzwords, pull up the multi-year, multi-month chart. This will give you a visual on how the stock has performed in the past. Does it run and fail constantly?
Look for substance in announcements, like earnings. Earnings are audited by the SEC.
If a company announces a partnership with a large company, be wary. Many will typically say
‘unnamed partner.’
They also won’t offer the numbers on this ‘large contract.’ They’ll try to trick you by saying “up-to” x amount of dollars.
These are all huge red flags, so be cautious!
The next part is important. Tune in as Bohen talks SEC filings and offers four keywords that can help you spot a press release in advance.
