So what's up everyone? All right? Well, today is no trade Wednesday. no trades for me, I was. So the issue today was that the drop in bitcoin was creating a lot of, uh, well, there's a lot of attention on it. Bitcoin dropping down to 30 000 and then bouncing back up off those lows.
And so we saw some opportunities in some stocks. I was watching Coinbase for a short at one night at 219 pre-market but the volume was only 750 000 shares and the spreads were big 50, 60, even 70 cents and I thought, man, I just I've already had three red days you know this is. I like the idea, but I don't think I could take the risk and I saw Tesla. Wow, that looks interesting for a short below 550, breaking the 200 moving average on the daily.
Well, that one's risky too. I didn't trade it, it drops to 545, then pops back up, so you know. And then there was Riot and Mara. So there's these sort of Bitcoin derivative stocks where their price action value is very much based on what's happening on in Bitcoin.
Well, I don't have a bitcoin chart up. now I I could, but I've really never done that when I'm trading. I just, well, I don't trade those types of stocks. Usually, I don't trade cryptocurrencies, and I don't focus on the Bitcoin sort of derivative stocks.
which Tesla only is because they decided to buy so much Bitcoin that's on them. Uh, so I feel like Tesla's a short, but it's just as breaking this critical level on the daily. but I didn't feel like I could take the risk on it. Um, Coinbase.
I felt like it's a short, but couldn't take the risk on that. I saw the Coinbase website wasn't working very well this morning. I tried to get on. it wouldn't work for me so I don't know.
But uh, at a certain point I said, you know what, It's 10 a.m I think it's time just to button it up and say I'm done for the day, close up shop. I didn't take any trades, it is what it is. I. I want to trade every single day.
It's very hard for me to sit down and restrain myself, but everything I looked at today I was just like man. I just don't feel confident enough. And maybe that's because I've had a couple red days and I really feel like I need a green day just to break the streak. And nothing was quite strong enough to give me the conviction to press that button.
You know, the buy button or the short button. And of course, I don't usually like to short anyways, because my gains on short positions are taxable, whereas my gains on long positions are no tax. So you know. Ultimately, I keep half of what I make on the short side.
and I keep all of what I make on the long side. So I'm incentivized to focus long. And that's what I do for the most part. But you know, that's just that's the way it is.
So anyways, Um, this is A, that's the recap. I wasn't gonna do one and then I thought, well, I'll I'll just do this. It is what it is. So no Trade Wednesday discipline strengthening that muscle.
It's A. It's a good one. It's one that you've got to have and it's going to carry us through. You know, the next, Well, the rest of the week, and into next month. Next week, the following week, and into the month of June. we'll see what the market has for us. I'm expecting sporadic opportunities where you kind of have to be on your toes. uh, sort of like, um, I don't know.
fishing, maybe or hunting. I'm not a hunter, but you know, just kind of. There might be something that comes across, but it's gonna be a lot of sitting and waiting and being patient and not wanting to waste the the ammo. Just be patient.
And then when you see something, finally get it before it's gone because that might be your only opportunity for the day of the week. So it's you know, eat what you catch right now. I mean, I guess it's always that way, but certainly right now. and discipline is important.

hey, why do you pay more tax on short trades than long? I am a predominantly short trader and this is my first year as a full time trader – just curious if that is a tax law nationwide?
wow! you actually did itโฆ bravo! Iโve been โsidelinedโ since February and havenโt taken a single trade. Will be back at it in Juneโฆ unless the MKT is still going sideways or down.
Sticking to your guns is important. There is no rule that you have to trade every single day. ๐

We didnt trade yesterday due to those same conditions. My team sat and watched, monitored and learned a whole new market condition yesterday. Was a life experience

In wildlife species, we call it an opportunist. For example, a red fox is an opportunist. They leave the den on the hunt and try to capture whatever they get the opportunity to eat for the day. A squirrel could cache the nuts and fruits and feed this way. Ross needs a fox t-shirt when he goes on the market hunt. haha

I like your attitude and approach on this recap, bro Ross… it actually made my day to watch this one. I support you in the call you made given your assessment on the market yesterday, Wednesday. Funny thing, I placed a small buy order on Tsla for 555/ share around a month ago, but cancelled it last Sunday night, just feeling too weirded out by the high PE stock in a kinda sketchy uncertain market moment being navigated, imo.
Let's all get our collective healthy deep sleep periods we need, yes. and I hope you continue your perceptive, patient, adaptive and agile tactics as I feel it's ok to be more defensive and timely in a newly developing iffy trend cycle, potential volatility included.
If you are scared just take smaller size. Like one thousand shares. I trade Mosy today, $4.8 in, $5.3 out. 1000 shares, $500 made.
You should try TQQQ if you have nothing else going. I think it would work well for your strategy, plus it also trends well.

This market is too choppy and volatile
yeah, no trades, I couldnt find any trades, but try to find one and did with a tiny loss. Had lunch and come back saw one chance in TSLA, short and covered with a little more than $2 profit, closed green today.
So far only had two red day with very small loss for this month.
