Warrior Trading // Ross Cameron // Day Trade Warrior
What's up Everyone Ross here from Warrior Trading. So exciting! Announcements this week is you guys know for forever. Basically I've been using direct Access brokers. Those are brokers that give me direct access to the market.
So I get great execution speed and great execution price. The downside is that I pay a commission on every trade I take. That was never a big deal until in the last month Etrade: Ameritrade Interactive Brokers Charles Schwab Fidelity all these brokers have announced zero Commission So now that cost difference is a little bit bigger and I want to make sure that I'm really getting what I'm paying for. So this week I set up two new brokerage accounts, one with E trade which I already made a video about and one with a merit rate.
Now so far I'm liking the Ameritrade platform more than Etrade, but this is just me getting it set up. What would really help me as I'm kind of acclimating would be for you guys to throw down. in the comments below, some tips and tricks on how to use the Ameritrade Thinkorswim platform because so far I've been a little confused as I remember from five years ago or six years ago when I was using it last. it's not super intuitive and I'm I Tried to take a couple test trades in the simulation mode thinkorswim on demand and I was really bumbling so maybe you guys can help me.
so I can make the most of the platform and really have a good comparison of execution speed because I need to be able to use the platform well before I can really do a solid comparison. So what I'll be doing on this playlist is a comparison of Merit rate versus Etrade with live trading recording so you can see the execution speed and the difference and I'm going to compare both of them to Lightspeed which is a direct access broker. Now if at the end of all of this I find out that I'm getting what I pay for with Lightspeed that's awesome. I'm totally okay with trading there and paying that.
Commission If I find out that Etrade or Ameritrade is faster or just as fast or even better, I'll be surprised if I'm gonna be totally honest, but you know I'm gonna go with it. So let's see what happens and again. comment below with tips and tricks on how to use: Ameritrade Check out my other video on my new Etrade account and subscribe to the channel and the playlist for new videos as they come out. This is gonna be an exciting challenge.
I'm gonna be actually trying to trade in three different platforms all at the same time Lightspeed E, Trade and Ameritrade The bar is set high. Let's see if I can do it. Multitasking to the extreme. Alright, so that's it for me.
I Will see you guys in the next video to learn more about trading. Check out some of the links in my description and if you have questions, ask them in the comments. I personally respond to every question, post it on my channel, and don't forget to subscribe.
do you still recommend TD ameritrade over lighting? or lighting is still good? for order routing that is
Ross can you help me I’m new to TOS and I’m trying to figure how to immediately send a limit order with the 5c offset with one click. I know I can’t use hot keys for that with TOS. Should I just use the hot keys to buy ask and sell ask and bid or do u know if there’s a way to auto send a limit order with the 5c offset automatically included? Thanks in advance…
If you open TDA web you can go to your account settings and apply for direct routing.
What broker in Canada, Not interested in shorting at all. I heard TD has awful executes. Is questrade a good option?
I just wanted to check, is there a minimum deposit to get live level 2 data feed for futures for Ameritrade? Also is there another broker/platform which is better or you or anyone else would recomend? Thanks in advance
How much are you funding TD with ?
You personally responding to every question is pretty friggin epic. Cool beans
Hey Ross! I've been using Thinkorswim for awhile now. I've definitely noticed slippage on some trades which can be really frustrating! As such I'm reeaally curious what you think about TOS vs. Lightspeed.
Ross, give me a way to send you an e-mail about TDA, it will be worth your time.
Your lightspeed is best becoz, Thinkorswim and etrade not much fast. This is 100% sure.
The scanner is also very useful. You just have to set your criteria to the type of stocks you are searching for. You also have to manually hit the scan button often. But it works well in conjunction with your other HOD momo scanner of choice because the yellow dots that pop up next to the ticker is the news headline indicator. I end up doing a pre market scan and adding all low floaters with news to the watchlist for the day.
It took me a while to sort of figure out where all the tools you used on speed trader were on TD. But if you just message the trade desk asking for specific tools and functions they are very helpful.
I am loving the TOS active trader! Make sure you tell them you want real time data.. the active trader buttons are excellent and the flatten now button it extremely awesome for mental stops.
Hi Ross, I’ve been using Ameritrade for the last year and it’s been hard to get my orders filled at market open or in high volume trades. In addition to that, when there’s a ton of volume, I’ve seen that time lag carry me higher in profit and drag me down from green to red. Ive been pretty profitable regardless and absolutely love your strategy. I have been considering buying your program. You’re an inspiration to me!
On ThinkOrSwim, what I have used in the past, that comes close to simulating hot buttons for buy/sell orders, was the “Active Trader” tab on the “Active Trader” screen. You can setup, your quantities ahead of time and set it either auto execute or for editable. I liked, the editable one better because, I could set the limit pretty quick once it pops up and send the order out really fast! You will have to play around with the different settings to find out what works for you, if at all.
Ross, make sure that you turn the memory usage all the way up on your login tab. Click the gear on the bottom left and memory usage is at the bottom. I had to contact them to get a complete level II. Hot keys are under setup, application setting in the top right. Change them to whatever you want. I prefer click trading under the trade tab on the chart. You can set that up however you want too. I typically use market orders with a cancel all tab in between. You have to select auto send so that it automatically places the order instead of popping up a confirmation screen.
I've been trading TOS for a cpl years now and like what it has to offer. Graphs are great and I like the Active Trader function but it is not good on High Volume breakouts. I get way to much slippage on breakouts compared to Suretrader (direct access) so I only trade pull backs or red to green moves. IMO
Ross not having hot keys is brutal
TOS is for option traders.I don't think it's your cup of tea.
In chart settings, in time axis tub, chose 5 ticks extra space, this way real time candle will have extra room on the right side, so you can see it better.
make sure to go to "Setup" and under "General" tab and in "System" to set "Quote speed" to real-time
I was told when I funded my trading account that I needed to have this $10,000 dollar software it shows high- risk stock vs low- risk stock.
I don't believe LULD is available on TOS Level 2
connor with boiler room trading does a fantastic job explaining setup & trading on think or swim
Why no one use interactive brokers ?
Ross, i just remembered from some research a few weeks ago. the ninjatrader platform can be used in conjunction with TD Ameritrade. i'm not sure of the cost or execution of trade with Ameritrade as the clearing house.
