So today was the first day that TD Ameritrade released its $0 commission free trades and to say the least the excitement got the best of me! Overall I did a poor job executing my trades and paid the price for it! I share my game plan on what i plan to do next week in effort to stay more consistent with my green days by simply setting less aggressive daily goals with this inconsistent market! Hope you enjoy!

Hey Ricky, you are the only one, i know that constantly buying many thousand shares in a sec, on ToS. That will be interesting if you pay attention, in the next days or weeks, to figure if spread and/or slippage increase, now that is commission free. Not necessary a big deal depending of trading style, but in your case you can probably see/feel the increase if this happens.
So Ricky, i'm 24 and I've been watching your videos and I took your initial advice to begin with paper trading then work my way into real trading. so far its been about 15 days using the questrade practice account (in Canada) and I've been trading Canada's ETF's on oil, gas, and gold (leveraged inverses). in this time using a maximum of 20k, I've managed to make ~4000$. my question is how would you know that you're ready to begin trading with real money? I tried a would-be impossible trade – flipped a same-day 294 call on SPY for 33% gain, made $2.70 on a $12 trade (aka a lotto option). Fees would have been over $10 in the past. Now it only costs $1.30 per round trip per contract.
The last half hour of the day had that strike go in the money and it peaked at 0.64 ($64 per contract). Closed green, but didn't get anywhere close to the full move. I'm just learning low-time options, hence the tiny size. Robinhood would actually be easier than TD for this kind of trade – they'll sell your option by default instead of exercising. The only reason I tried it is I've seen same-day moves more than 1000%. Capturing even a tiny piece of that can be worth it – risking $100 to make $500 is a good trade if your accuracy is better than 20%.
New study I just seen said 98% of day traders lose money. Day trading will make you lose money…just so $0 trades you will just lose slightly less money
Just remember bro this month is very volatile at the beginning when all the reports are released daily.
Your daily goal should be gaining experience
All the free brokers people do not realize they are going to poor money into the market and loose. Good luck to all.
trading for your pnl is a stupid idea. you can size down but if you are always worried about daily goals and what not, it will surely affect your trading.
Go back to commissions.
